I've been in a wheelchair for 48 years. I've struggled with my weight for most of my life. The only exercise that I can think of to help me loose weight is by wheeling around the block. Other than doing exercises with weights, does anyone have new ideas that I can try?

Can you do things like water aerobics? My mom uses a wheelchair but isn't completely paralyzed - she goes to water aerobics every morning. She uses a swim belt to help stay afloat.

hi Shawna- a great physical therapist should be able to identify a series of moves appropriate for your body. if you cannot get one then i would recommend posture exercises to counteract stress caused by your default posture. i love Miranda Esmond-white's "Classical Stretch". doing it has opened up my back, neck and ribcage like weight lifting and cardio never did. good luck ☺
