So like I seasoned a whole chicken with rosemary for Easter this year so anyway I was wondering what spice or combination of will compliment my turkey this coming Thursday

I like Herbs de Provence (a mix of savory, marjoram, rosemary, thyme, oregano you can buy pre-mixed), salt and pepper.

Ok so my cat just stepped on my keyboard and managed to delete everything I just typed. So I will just go short this time - I agree that brining is good, and if you are looking for herbs that go well with a turkey for seasoning I would vote sage - I think it is a pretty traditional choice, and I know I like it.

brining = good. I third that. However, I make a mean turkey that marinades in beer and apple cider vinegar instead of brine. It also gets butter + herb mix inserted between skin and meat. And stuffed. Thyme is good with turkey. Fresh thyme even better.

Can't wait for xmas to make it :) we have it every xmas! (i'm not American, we dont Thanksgive in Australia)

I really like the beer and apple cider vinegar idea... Idk anything about brining but I'll probably look up some videos. It seems like a hassle and Idk about containers and stuff because I don't have anything to brine a turkey in and going to use a disposable turkey roaster... I saw a video on using a sage and butter mixture for the inside and out. I'll likely do that but as far brining goes I guess I'll educate myself a little and judge from there

I brine my turkey but like a bit of bite to it, so I put on a little olive oil followed by a generous sprinkling of dry rub. Last year I used a Memphis BBQ rub; this year will be Cajun seasoning.

You can also dry brine which is a lot less of a hassle.

Is dry brining any worse and than regular brining?

Dry brining is easier, IMO, and makes the skin extra crispy.

I saw a recipe for apple cider turkey. I think I'm gonna do that

Not doing a brine because I dont have a big enough pot and it should turn out fine anyway
