Anybody interested in hiking in the White Mountains either through the winter or as the snow melts in spring? I want to complete the 48 4,000 footers. I have 10 done and can't seem to motivate any of my friends to hike with me. I just rather not be alone out there. Escpecially attempting Winter hikes!

If you're going to hike solo you can pick up a PLB or SEND.

    Winter? In the White Mountains?
You have to be a bit careful. Weather in the White Mountains can be extremely variable and gnarly. Some of the worst in the country, I believe

It can be dangerous, but with the right precautions it's a wonderful time! My father has been hiking the white mountains (year round) for over 10 years now.. he'll be 64 in January.
