I always love these threads, they're so motivational!
I suppose the biggest thing for me is confidence, although maybe that's to do with age as well?
I love being reasonably fit, I don't get a fright when I catch myself in a mirror and I don't mind photos being taken. And I love that my children grow up fit and healthy as well and that exercise is the norm for them.6 -
I found that I can wake up earlier in the morning and I have more motivation to actually get off the sofa/chair/bed to get going. 30LBS down this year and many more to go, but I just keep trecking on, started gymming in the morning and also found that I am able to paint my nails easier, tie my shoes, I get less pain whilst walking as although my asthma has not improved, I am able to walk without major pains in my chest. I am now able to eat more healthy food without it making me feel sick (still cant handle mushrooms) but I am able to cook healthier too!
Amazing achievement from everyone!2 -
Ride roller coasters with my kids.
Finding out I'm terrified of roller coasters!8 -
I can put on my socks while standing up. And tie my shoes while standing up. I can run 5k. I can fit through tight spaces. I can wear medium shirts instead of XXL. I can eat 10 smarties instead of all of them. I can eat SOME pizza, not THE pizza.
I cannot, however, pass a mirror without shaking me head in amazement.13 -
Here are some of mine...
- Cross my legs comfortably
- Walk without feeling disgusting or completely out of shape
- Wear clothes I haven't seen since high school
- Talk and not avoid a discussion on weight loss.
- Take pictures that I am not 100% disgusted by
- Walk with my head high (because I know I am making positive changes in my life)

I have a much easier time picking out clothes to wear to work and I have many more choices.3

train for a half marathon2

I can wear skirts again with confidence
I love to wear them but my thighs used to rub and forget about nylons. Now I wear them more than pants and even in a casual setting not at work! I can cross my legs and I no longer have to be a contortionist to put on nylons!3 -
I can run. I always hated running. I'm still a beginner, but I can run for 30 minutes without stopping. TMI, but I can also take a bath with my husband. It turns out that 2 adults can fit in one bathtub if neither one of them is obese.8

I can deadlift 300 pounds, and do 5 consecutive pull-ups!7
-
Run for 30-40 minutes. 30 seconds used to be a challenge!
Do half a pull up. Still gotta jump to get half-way up, but then I can lift myself up the rest of the way. Just hanging from the bar used to be too painful.
Love this thread!!2 -

*I can do splits on both sides. I'm still working on those middle splits though.
*Climbing stairs is still tiring but MUCH easier without excess weight to carry up.
*I can cross my legs without trying and without discomfort.

I can tie my shoes and breathe, at the same time.2

Great thread!
I can eat salad without dressing (used to need to slather it with blue cheese or caesar dressing)
Cook healthy
20 consecutive push up on my toes
10 burpees in a row without getting winded
Hold a plank for 5 minutes4 -
I used to put out my arms like a little kid and have my hubby pull me up off our (low) couch lol. Or I would have to lean over and push myself up with my arms. Now I can get up with just the strength of my legs/abs. Seems crazy to think I used to be like that.3

I can cross my legs now!3
-
I can run a 5K
I can do pushups
I can have fun shopping again3 -
I can run. I can walk quickly up hills and not only not hate it, but not notice a change in my breathing. Stairs are a breeze.2

My fit through the door to the restroom without having to squeeze my arms into it.3
-
I can climb up in my nephew's playhouse and go down the slide. I have energy to keep up with my own boys. Pretty great!3
-
I can run 4 miles in under 50 minutes4
-
Run for 3 minutes. I started at 30 seconds, so 3 minutes feels like forever, but I can do it.
I can also button my favorite pair of jeans without using the rubber band trick I learned while pregnant.3 -
I've gone from struggling to get up off the floor to squatting 65 pounds.
I can lay on my tiny couch without removing the back cushions.
The floor stays dry when I take a bath.
My feet don't hurt anymore.
Walking up the steep hills in my neighborhood has gotten so easy I am starting to run them.
I bought winter clothes a little snug knowing they will be too big by spring.5 -
I can play with my kids in the those indoor playgrounds often found in science center/museums without worrying about getting stuck.3
