Fellow low calorie dieters, add?

Would like some people to add who are also eating low calories, even if its not really a diet for them. Am tired of people assuming I'm starving myself just because I eat 1,000-1,200 calories. Am 5'6 by the way

Starving is about a lot more than feeling hungry. And this will be nuked because it's against TOS and is distinctly pro-ana.4

She is obviously pro ana. 125 5'6 eating 1000 calories a day and losing 7 lbs a month. Have fun losing your muscles and hair and lots of bad stuff.3

I expect the other thread was also just friend fishing. Seems to be the season for them, makes me sad.2

It does especially since she stated her goal was to recomp and she got awesome advice from some very experienced posters. Hopefully there were lurkers who took the advice though.
As someone in recovery from anorexia it kills me seeing people who treat it as a joke. It's a serious illness and has devastating consequences1 -
OP I know in another thread you spoke about your history with an ED. It seems like it is still going on unfortunately. Please be careful.. maybe it is time to see someone for help.7

I never feel hungry since going mainly plant. May go full vegan soon. Still contemplating1 -

Which is what I said. Just because you're not hungry doesn't mean your body is getting everything it needs.2 -
Lack of hunger doesn't mean you aren't starving yourself. You really need to seek help for your eating disorder1

Would you say the same to all the other plant eaters who, by chance, eat low calorie but who operate just fine on a daily basis? Why is it ok to bash vegetarians/vegans? It happens so much1 -

Based on your other thread and what you're eating, you're not ready to go full vegan, and you're still really bad at being vegetarian. These are not ways of eating that you undertake casually. You need to meet you macros and make a point to get in certain micros, supplementing if necessary. You need to do your research and be prepared or you could end up really, really sick.
Of course, if you keep eating such low cal at your current height and weight, you're going to end up really, really sick anyway. What you're doing is not in any way healthy. It's dangerous.2 -

This has absolutely nothing to do with your chosen way of eating and everything to do with undereating. There are plenty of users in the community who are vegetarian or vegan. Your body needs energy in the form of adequate calories in order to function properly. You lost 7lbs in a month by your own admission. This is a clear warning that you are not eating enough, full stop. What you are eating makes little difference at this point, you just need to eat more.1 -

So fruits/veggies/whole grains aren't healthy? Ok...

And it's not by chance you undereat. When someone eats low calorie, even accidentally due to their chosen way of eating, they often find ways to increase their intake to safe and adequate levels for their goals. It's not hard to add calorie dense, plant based items to your diet to increase your intake but you don't want to.1
-
Not one person has bashed on you for being vegetarian. Not one. In fact, in your other thread many of us told you we were glad you'd found a way of eating you enjoy. But your stated goals and your calorie intake are at odds. This is all anyone has said. If you want to recomp or maintain then you have to eat more. There's no reason to martyr yourself because of that.1

No undereating isn't healthy. You are so deep in denial it's crazy.1 -

Yeah, they are healthy...but there's more to proper nutrition than just fruits and veg to include meeting your body's energy requirements. There's nothing healthy about underfeeding...you have issues.
This has nothing to do with being vegetarian...I eat vegetarian 3-4 days per week and I hit my calorie targets on those days just as I do when I eat meat...there are plenty of ways to increase calories in a plant based diet. You either don't know much about actual nutrition or you have some majorly disordered thinking...probably both.2 -

Not when you only eat 1000 calories of them and are losing 7lbs a month at your already very low weight/bodyfat.1 -

I'm a vegetarian. I eat plenty of veggies and whole grains. There's really no issue with meeting my caloric goals with things like lentils, black beans, and eggs.
You're making the choice to eat a high volume of the lower calorie dense foods like fibrous vegetables and fill up on them so that you consume a low amount of calories instead of consuming the more calorie dense foods like beans in higher quantities so that you take in an adequate amount of calories to sustain a healthy weight.
Your BMI is already 20.1. Do you know that BMI's under 20 are associated with a risk of all-cause mortality?
Is it your intention to thin your bones? Give yourself brittle nails? Start losing your hair?
Keep this up and this is exactly what will happen to you.
No one is bashing your choice to be a vegetarian, and it was a coy diversion tactic on your part to play that card.
You need to seek help for your eating disorder.8 -

No one is bashing vegetarian/vegan choices. It's telling that this is what you are choosing to take from this. People are saying that you can increase your calorie intake to a healthy level within your dietary choices to ensure that your body is getting enough proteins and fats to ensure proper functioning. They have even given you suggestions on how to do this. Veggies are great form many of the micros (not all of them though), but they lack the macros that are important to maintain healthful functioning. That's the point that you keep dancing around. It is this dancing around the point that is concerning. You are on a slippery slope. Get some help.3 -

When that's all you eat, and when you don't eat enough calories, you are not eating a healthy diet. You need more calories, you need adequate protein sources, and you need a minimum level of fat. Going vegan puts you at risk for micronutrient deficiencies if you're not careful. But right now, you need more calories.
And you know that I wasn't saying fruits/veggies/whole grains are unhealthy. You chose to take it that way because you don't want to acknowledge that everyone in this thread is right, that you need to eat more, and that if you stay on this path you're going to seriously damage your body. It's up to you if you're going to take better care of yourself or not, and I seriously hope you do. Eating disorders are a b!tch, and I wouldn't wish them on anyone.3 -
even if you ate only mcdonalds and still ate under your calories it would still be unhealthy.doesnt matter what you eat just that its not enough to fuel your body, not to mention you lose muscle eating so little and losing so quickly and your heart is a muscle. ask my sister who would eat so little, binge, purge(not saying you purge just putting it out there), she is now having heart problems, she did all this to get to a healthy weight and continued to do so and got down to an unhealthy weight.she has also binged so much she became overweight numerous times(there were times where she wouldnt purge or use laxatives-she goes through these spurts)1

I can relate to you. I was eating 1-1500 cals per day including excercise. A long time ago. I can tell you its not sustainable for the rest of your life. Particularly for two reasons, your health and your happiness. One thing i learnt when it comes to dieting, if you ever feel like its too drastic just ask yourself if you can eat like this for the rest of your life and still be happy and cheerful.
Well 5 years later im eating a colossal 2500 calories, with hiit and weights and its been the most SIMPLE and effective regieme ive had due to better research and loots of learning.
If your doctor placed you on such a deficit than thats fine but if its for body image then its more harmful than ever. Alot of the reasons for such drastic approaches to look attractive might be because thats what you lack on the inside. So what you lack on the inside you make up for on the outside? Sadly you will learn that even with a skinner body you will always be the same person inside. Take it from me, the issue isnt with your body, its with you. Dont use your body to make men value you because they will only value you for your body, but seek self-respect and you will find it.0 -

Who is bashing vegetarians/vegans? People are giving you the much needed advice that you need to eat more total calories. If those come from plant based food, great! It isn't healthy to continually under eat, you are losing weight too aggressively, and your posting history in general is concerning because not only do you have some disordered thoughts about food and your body, you are soliciting others with similar habits to be friends with as well as giving advice about eating below the minimum calorie level on these boards.1 -
Maybe she's over weight and her doctor put her on a 900 calorie diet? Mine put me on a 900 calorie diet plus a pill. I took myself off that pill bc it put me in the emergency room and on 1,200 calorie using this system. Please don't bash op. You never know her conditions and what she doesn't want to admit to. I have no filter and am open. Maybe she does and is close. All you can do is pray for her not bash her. Bashing makes things worse you know. Praying doesn't.0

Never mind about beginning and wish I didn't post it but it went through. The rest I said goes to all of you. Bashing doesn't help. Praying does.0

I'm guessing you didn't look at OPs profile pictures, or look at her posting history. She's not overweight. No one is bashing her, and no one would be commenting if it were a doctor supervised diet.4 -

Many of the people here have tried to help the OP on this thread and at least two other current threads. If you truly believe we're all "bashing" her then I don't know what to say. I'd urge you to read all three current threads and try not to generalize about the people posting.
How did praying get into this?4
