This seems like a weird post, but I'm looking for fellow people who struggle with mental health. I feel like it puts another inconvenience at times. I'm bipolar and my meds cause increased appetite (which I gained a lot from), so I'm trying to figure out ways around that. Plus, it's always nice to know people are in the same boat as you.
I'm 21 if that matters to you!

Have u spoken to a nutrition about your challenges? When I was dealing with postpartum depression- my former supervisor who is a dietitian suggested I go on a gluten free diet. It has helped tremendously. Gluten causes inflammation in the body and may contribute to highs & lows. Just something to look into.1

I suffer from depression and have been seeking treatment since Sept 2013. I am better now and I don't find your post weird. Mental health is as important as a six pack or a healthy liver!4

I also have bipolar and am losing the medication munchies weight. If you search the old threads you will find more posts similar to this one. It may help to mention the weight gain to your psychiatrist if you haven't already. They can often make little changes to your meds that can make a big difference. I'm adding you as a friend right now.

Add me. I'm bipolar 1. Currently on lithium only with Diaz for anxiety but have burned through many other meds. I understand the difficulties.1

I have been on medication for depression since I was 11 years old - I'm now 27. Was on sertraline (zoloft) for most of my life (with additional mgs added as I aged) and then added wellbutrin into the mix in college. About 6 months or so ago I changed and went completely off the zoloft and upped the wellbutrin even more. It was a super difficult thing for me to make that decision - felt like i was losing a security blanket. However, I think that it was right for me. It's been a lot easier for me on my weight loss journey on just the wellbutrin... I know how difficult this is especially when medication is involved. Anyone looking for MFP friends - feel free to add me!0
