I have digital weighing scales
I weighed in bathroom today on carpet and then weighed on the hard floor and got different results
Does the surface affect the scales?

Don't weigh on carpet. You need a hard, flat surface in order for scales to work properly.
If at all possible, find a good spot where you can leave the scale without moving it.1 -
