For me, not at the start. However now I've reached a place where the extra tracking is nice and very helpful. I want to adjust my macros because my goals are A. Lose weight B. keep/build muscle. The ability to adjust that helps a lot. I also like that I can adjust the calories per meal. So if I am going to have 450 calories eating out, I can adjust the other meals so I get a feel for what I can eat that day. it helps and I don't feel as deprived. I'm currently exploring the rest that it offers. I also know on my phone, the fact I am rid of the ads is very nice also. It's less distracting. So far, I am happy doing it. I paid by the month because I wasn't sure it was needed and trying it for a month was a sure way to find out.

I like being able to set calories by day too. So I know that on work out days I get XX amount of calories v. sitting in the office days

Not even close with the hot mess of a database. I need an accurate database before I pay for something.
