Good afternoon,

I am having a bit of a really disappointing result and at the moment feeling demotivated and deflated.

I have been doing well for the past 4-5 weeks ever since I have decided to make a pact with my friends and have started my weight loss journey yet again.

We have agreed to loose 2kg by 26 November 2016

Until today i was on track. I was at 1.3 mark and had 700 grams to go ....

I weighed myself this morning and i am right back where i started.

I did not have any blowouts, i exercise and try hard to make sure that i do at least 40 -60 min walk and some cardio or strength .... but i am still back to square one and still have the same 2kg to go .....

I feel lighter and healthier but that number is killing me ...

I know weight loss is not a fast journey ... but to be honest i was not prepared for such a downer.

Water weight. Weight lose is not linear.

Plus you never said anything about calories. Are you weighing your food?

Your profile says you are female, is it possibly you are getting ready to start your period? I always gain 4-6 pounds right before mine and 2 pounds right before ovulation, but it's all water weight and will disappear. If you had higher sodium yesterday or more water or more carbs you would retain more water weight today.

You should get used to scale fluctuations and working over time frames of 6-8 weeks not day to day

Here, I'm in 2 years maintenance within 4 lbs up and down of 160

Wanna see my last 2 week weigh ins ...for water reasons?

  • I always measure the portions and try to do more exercise then i would count just in case

may be it is my portions ...

I hope it is period and i hope at least some of the progress will come back

This is why I approached my weight loss by determining that I was going to stick with it like glue for 16 weeks, and whatever I lost in that time, I lost. I made no weight goals. But I figured I'd lose something in that time, and something was better than nothing. :)

Weight loss is not linear. Everyone has daily fluctuations, women are especially susceptible to scale movement throughout the month due to hormones etc.

Check out a weight trending app like libra for Android or happy scale for ios. Smooths out the fluctuations and helps you know if you are still heading the right direction
