I'm a 56 year old who has been struggling to lose weight her whole adult life. I would love to hear any tips, comments, or advice on how to stay on track and get it done! Finally the first of this year I got it and have been trying to eat better and lose this weight for good. I'm done 30+ but it is coming off so slow that I'm getting discouraged.

One foot in front of the other. One day at a time.

Keep logging your food every day. I used to look at my food diary at the end of the day and try to figure out ways to cut a couple calories here and there...like using 1% milk, using plain yogurt in place of sour cream, eating half as much cheese and/or butter. There are plenty of ways to cut a few calories without sacrificing flavor.

Also, make your decisions at the store. If it isn't in the house, I can't eat it. Some people swear by internet grocery shopping. It keeps them from impulse buying and helps with meal planning.

Make small changes where you can. Park further away. Get off the bus two stops early. Take the steps instead of the elevator.

Don't give up. I used to be about 300 lbs and I would get so unmotivated when my weight loss would slow down or the results weren't instantaneous. Keep logging and remind yourself everyday why you're changing your life! 62 lbs gone so far and still have about 60 to go !

I've been on here 3.2 years and lost 48lbs, I am 69 it takes longer as you get older, you can do this you have to stick with it, my loss has been frustrating slow but at least it's not going back on. Good luck
