Just wondering if anyone has tried the 321 slimfast diet. I tried it for a week and then stopped.

I do the 1-2-3 slim fast shake just for lunch and I ate dinner and snacks. It helps me to keep my calories under control,

Yes, not enough protein for the calories with the shakes. Much better protein based shakes are available. Look for under 200 calories, 25 or more grams of protein with little or no fat and sugar. For bars about 200 calories, 17 or grams of protein, bar have more fat and sugar than shakes so just compare.

A healthy meal is lean protein, lots of veggies and some fruit. Along with water and exercise and you should see difference!

    You can do it!

I only use these when I am limited on time for lunch like if I have to work through lunch or I'm on the run. I use these maybe 4 times per month...sometimes less.

I use the shakes for breakfast and lunch (or dinner if I have a regular lunch) and buy the snack bars cause they are yummy. I've been doing this since the first of June because it's convenient and an easy way for me to keep on track. I work full-time and go to school so I just grab and go and don't have to worry about packing a lot of stuff when I leave in the morning. My husband and I are still learning about portion control and how to cook healthy so this is our buffer while we learn.

That's what I have been doing and I have lost 20lbs with it. Seems to be working pretty good. I have been doing this for a couple months now. Keeps me on track.

I do and have been having good success with pairing it with a 1200 calorie per day diet and 20 minutes exercise on our rowing machine. The rowing machine has been a great nearly all-body workout for me. I also wear a Polar Heart Rate monitor with a chest strap (RS100) all day (not just when exercising) that helps me get up and move to try to get my HR in my target zone instead of being so sedentary. I drink 1 SF for breakfast, one around lunch and one in the afternoon and then eat a sensible dinner of about 500-600 calories or so. I don't do their snacks, so that is why I substitute the third shake. I'm averaging 2 lbs loss per week and have been on it almost a month. I happen to track my calories with a different software so you won't be able to see it here, but according to their nutritional tracker, I am perfect on track with carbs and protein and even under on sugar. As I get closer to my goal weight (I have 50 more pounds to lose) I will be substituting in food in place of the a shake at lunch. It is important to me to learn to change my habits, not just depend on a shake. I realize this may not work for all people, but I have already made some pretty drastic lifestyle changes (keeping track of calories, exercising daily, being aware of my heart rate/movement, etc.) and I am really happy with the results so far. I think the way that I am using SF is helping me achieve my goals. I hope to continue to improve, especially with portion control; as I said, I plan to gradually replace the shakes with "real food" as I get closer to goal and my next lifestyle changes will be to continue to track calories and learn to correctly determine the calories in the portions of food I choose. Lots to learn; I'm enjoying the journey.

FWIW, The old slimfast had a ridiculously high amount of sugar and something like 30 or 40 more calories per drink than this one does. People who hated in the past may (or may not *shrug*) have a different opinion of this one. I don't disagree that there may be "better" shakes out there. This one is affordable for me via Amazon's subscription service. In case anyone is wondering, each can is 190 calories, has 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of dietary fiber. I will be continuing on using it as part of my 1200 calorie per day diet / exercise regime. As I learn to trust myself to select 190 calorie healthy choices in place of the shakes, I will absolutely be doing that. I don't believe in quick fixes (and this hasn't been for me). What it has given me is the ability to know exactly how many calories I'm taking in and for the first time I'm seeing good results.

It may not be right for everyone, but I think it can be right for some people. Hope this helps!

I use the meal bars everyday, but I don't stick to the 321 diet. I usually will eat 2 meal bars a day plus 1200 calories. They satisfy my sweet tooth and they help hold me off until lunch and dinner. I usually eat 250 calories for breakfast, 200 calorie meal bar as a snack, 400 calories for lunch, a 200 calorie meal bar as a snack, then dinner is between 500 and 800 calories. It helps me not binge for lunch and dinner or snack on vending machine food at work. If I am out of time and can't make my breakfast I will drink a shake for breakfast. (Mostly just on Sundays trying to get ready for church.)

Personally I would rather spend the calories on actual food that will leave me satisfied. I can see using them on an occasional basis when you're out and about and can't/didn't plan ahead, but I wouldn't use it as the basis of my weight loss plan.

I always have a slimfast shake for breakfast, depending on how hungry I am I might blend in some oats, I have also started blending in spinach for extra vitamins and believe it or not you really don't taste it.

I have tried it and I am always hungry and cranky and don't lose weight on it. Plus you're just feeding your body liquid chemicals and sugary snack bars then one balanced meal, it sounds great in theory but broken down I feel like eating real food gets much better results. If I need a shake I make one with fat free milk, soy protein powder and fruit instead.
  • I have it for either breakfast or lunch and that's pretty much it, just one a day. I tried it with 1 teaspoon of peanut butter with the milk chocolate and to me is great, I get a meal that is reasonable in calories and it's like having a peanut better cup, can't beat that lol. Everyone is different, but if it works for you then go for it.
