Where do you go grocery shopping? Do you shop at multiple stores to save money? What do you buy at each store if you do shop around? (Just looking to decrease my food bill!) Thanks!

I buy some of my basics at Aldi. I buy some of the items I use a lot of at Sam's Club. Overall I do most of my shopping at Wal Mart.

I shop at walmart for the most part. If you get adds for the other store walmart will price match the adds :) Saves a lot of money that way and you only have to go to one store :)

find a store like walmart that will price match. go through your flyers and circle everything you want to buy and then go find the same products at the price match store and there are your savings. I have been going to Costco a lot for chicken breast, protein powder, veggies, fruit, cereals, snacks, and nuts.

Bulk bins, bulk buns, bulk bins!!!!
  • I try to buy everything I possibly can at Aldi's. It's by far the cheapest...especially for fresh produce. I'm a die hard fan. We lost the one where I live (Joplin, MO) but it's even worth driving 20 minutes to. Good Luck!

if i wasnt hauling around small impatient children i'd be more inclined to go to multiple stores. for now i normally just do one big shopping trip at the commissary at the base i live on.

I usually go between Stop and Shop and Hannaford. I'm in upstate NY. I only do Stop and Shop if they have a really good deal because Hannaford is so much cheaper. They also have a whole organic section at Hannaford, along with a bulk section where I get my oatmeal, rice, lentils, quinoa and dried fruits. It's all about reading the ads and comparing the prices.

    Kroger and Mother Earth Foods.

Our Kroger has a pretty good selection of organic fruits and vegetables and has the grass fed beef & organic chicken. Our walmart doesn't have any of that. But the truth is, you can't pay me enough to go to walmart. =)

Mother Earth Foods is a teeny itsy bitsy hippy store that is somewhat simliar to a trader joes or whole foods - except 90% smaller. Lol. But this spunky place supplies me with almond flour and coconut oil.

I'm a couponer and have a stockpile, so my shopping is probably quite a bit different from yours. But I do drive to different stores, unless it's stuff I can price match at WalMart (since that's the only store actually in my town).

If it's something we need, such as milk for my 2 year old, then I drive to Aldi and get it there (since it's the cheapest) and get some produce, bread, other stuff that there's not deals/coupons for while I'm there.

If you don't want to coupon, though, and want to cut your grocery bill, price matching at WalMart is great. This last week, I went there with other store ads and got 5 full bags of produce for $10 just matching other stores sales. I also stock up on chicken breasts there when the Mexican grocery store has them on sale for $1/lb....this last time I got 15 lbs. (and it's over half gone already).

I like to shop at Aldi for everything except the produce. I have not had much luck with the one where i live. It seem to be moldy by the time i get it home. That is just me though. Other than that I do all my other shopping at Meijers. I will have to check out Wal Mart though since it looks like a lot of people have been having luck there.

Good info! I am trying to find several ways to cut the food bill. I am looking to making a lot of a meal and freezing it into portions for lunches and future dinners since it is just myself and my fiance. I'd rather spend my money on new clothes than food! haha!
