Abbreviations and Acronyms and Something about a Kitten

There's a lot of shorthand on these forums. For all of us newbies and luddites, could you give translations, of both the common ones and the rare ones? It would be cool if we could do it without repeats on the thread . . .
For example (I'm pretty sure):
CICO: Calorie In, Calorie Out
IMHO: In my humble opinion

^ it's the swear filter that MFP uses - so if you try and type *kitten*, it turns into 'kitten'3

I just type kitten. Cuz I think it is hilarious. But at first...I thought, wow, what do these people have against kittens that they want to kick them all the time?6

If only someone would tell me what *babysloth* means.

Let's try... *kitten*
Edit: Nope, not the C-bomb.0 -

I'm not sure, but I've been assuming it's what some users type instead of an actual taboo word that MFP would render as *kitten*. When MFP first started doing this, I saw lots of variations, with people seemingly competing humorously to come up with the most obscure or exotic animals to use.0 -

It was actually more of a mocking of the new filth filter replacement. But I liked it, so still use it. I haven't seen too many others use it (babysloth specifically). I'm working on new ideas. I like the young animals theme.1 -

I didn't see the need to impute motive, but that was my impression as well.0 -

I appreciate that you didn't try to guess my motive. I'm not speaking for others, just my own. That's how it started. Now I just like it. I don't use the words that get filtered very often.0 -

I hadn't consideted tanuki. What's a young tanuki called? I was thinking what the *foal*.
When you look at the history of the forums and the love of cat/kitten gifs, it makes sense to use kitten. But it is confusing to newcomers, plus they won't get any backstory in it.
There are very few kitten gifs anymore, except this thread:

Which is full of three years of awesome.1 -
I'd rather use what's on my car license frame: What the duck!0

It also means Estimated Time of Arrival, but the context is wrong here
The link @diannethegeek posted has this and so much more! Worth checking out!0 -
Ha ha! And I also ruled out "extra-terrestrial activity" -- one of the things I found when I went online to try to figure it out (didn't want to ask because it seemed like everyone else knew what it meant!)1

I also found electronic travel authorization, which sounds a bit big brotherish.
Edited: for punctuation issues
ETA: I had to look up several of these as well when I first got here. There are still things I need to look up, and several things I'm scared to look up, because of the things I've been scarred by when looking them up.1 -

Of course it's mocking ..this is supposedly an adult site and yet it occasionally sets up rules and modus operandi we wouldn't countenance employing in high school to avoid perceived offence

I'm a month late, @nutmegoreo but you might like to consider *puggle* - a baby platypus or echidna.
Although it's hard to go past *shoat* - which is apparently a baby hog. Then we could say holy *shoat*! I wonder how long that would last0 -
