There's a lot of shorthand on these forums. For all of us newbies and luddites, could you give translations, of both the common ones and the rare ones? It would be cool if we could do it without repeats on the thread . . .
For example (I'm pretty sure):
CICO: Calorie In, Calorie Out
IMHO: In my humble opinion

I just type kitten. Cuz I think it is hilarious. But at first...I thought, wow, what do these people have against kittens that they want to kick them all the time?

I'm not sure, but I've been assuming it's what some users type instead of an actual taboo word that MFP would render as *kitten*. When MFP first started doing this, I saw lots of variations, with people seemingly competing humorously to come up with the most obscure or exotic animals to use.0 -

I hadn't consideted tanuki. What's a young tanuki called? I was thinking what the *foal*.
When you look at the history of the forums and the love of cat/kitten gifs, it makes sense to use kitten. But it is confusing to newcomers, plus they won't get any backstory in it.
There are very few kitten gifs anymore, except this thread:
