anyone know where to find good exercise videos for beginners? I don't got the money for a local gym & personal trainer & most the online videos think you have all the gym equipment at home & already have the body of a God.
I just want videos for a fat person starting out but i also don't really have any gym equipment. i know there's some exercises like pushups & situps

I walk. That's it. I'm too clumsy to do anything in the gym other than the treadmill. Just get out and walk. I park my car as far away as I can from the track at the park and walk, that gives me no choice but to walk back. Park as far as you can everywhere you go. If there's no park where you live go to a mall and walk. Find a Wal-Mart and walk the parking lot perimeter or soccer field.

Avoid Ashtanga yoga. Bought a beginner video. Started it. Sat down and stared. Sometimes turned my head completely upside down. Amazing. Impossible. BEGINNER? Obvi, their definition of beginner is different than mine.

Anna Caban has some okay pilates vids (Her Energy Boost Pilates kicks my butt. It is quick and intense. I use some of the exercises from it in separately for other routines I develop). Suzanne Deason has some good pilates/yoga/balance ball vids that include different levels (beginners should do this or if it is uncomfortable, do this instead). I've got a 10 Minute Solution vid that is pretty good. Came w resistance bands. has 5 10 minute routines. Challenging and not unreasonable. You can do one or five or anything inbetween. I really like the Long and Lean routine.

If there is a half price books near you (you're in GA, right? There's one in Decatur and one in Marietta...don't know if those are anywhere near you), they usually have cheap-o workout videos. Or any place that sells used vids. I'd rather buy used...less money and if I hate them, I don't feel bad about it. And then I sell them back!

"You Are Your Own Gym" is a book by Mark Lauren. It may be what you are looking for. There is also an app that goes along with it that will lead you through the workouts. Add walking to this, and you have a good overall starting program.

Popsugar Fitness finder is good too. It will build a workout based on the info you give it.

Leslie Sansome is good for aerobic exercise. It's brisk walking with knee lifts, kicks and side steps, so low impact. Pilates for Dummies is a good beginner dvd. The Biggest Loser videos are pretty basic.

I second the walking, I just stared a few months ago and I've realized...

    1. How much better I feel emotionally/mentally.
    2. How beautiful mother earth really is.
    3. I saw pretty quick results going from out of breath to 15 min then 30min to 1hr walking within less than a month.

"Convict Conditioning" by Paul Wade is a great place to start. He really focuses on proper form and a slow introduction with a gradual increase in the type and difficulty of exercise you are doing. You don't really need any equipment, a bench to start off with and eventually a chin up bar but you'll being working up to that for quite awhile. I believe you can even find PDF's of the book for free. Good luck to you!

    Take a look at https://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/

Home based and can be done without weights.

I've changed my mind about the 10 minute solution vid...It totally kicked my kitten yesterday. I was moaning and whinging on the floor after 5 minutes. Still am. Well, not on the floor, just generally.

Another one for walking. Low impact so doesn't hurt the old knees, free, gets you in the fresh air, clears the mind and you can visit places you never knew existed.

It is actually a dvd. It might be on YouTube, people don't pay attention to copyright, and it isn't super new, the maker may have posted. Just search 10 minute solution. There are probably more than five...I think there is a series. I found a couple that look similar with my web-accessible tv...don't know the address...

Edit...I have tighten & tone pilates. Produced by Collage Video or Anchor Bay entertainment...there are several, including yoga, pilates, boot camp, perfect body, prenatal, etc. Many pirated to youtube...
