I finished breastfeeding at the beginning of the year. I seemed to eat all the time when I was nursing. The only advice I can offer just remeber to get your calories in so your supply doesn't drop.Good luck and you got this momma!!!!

I hit inspiring because for both of my kids breastfeeding has NOT helped me loose weight. My body holds onto the extra with mega force!! I'm working out smart with weights and cardio and I've had success, it's just slower than I wanted. I workout with (fitnessblender.com)-FREE
I'm going to start tracking my food so I can better see if I'm eating the right amount of food (I tend to eat too little)
Keep it consistent! Slow and steady wins this breastfeeding weight loss race! Focus on making your body stronger and you'll see results even if they're slow!0 -
Can I suggest speaking with a lactation consultant or dietitian (or both) before making any drastic changes to your caloric intake?
Your body is making food for another human being and nourishing you to care for your infant.
Allow it to do that. This is a temporary time in your life where you need optimum nutrition for you both.0 -
I never experienced the "fat melting" benefit of breastfeeding either and my daughter nursed over 2 years.
I'll just echo the advice to eat/drink to keep your supply for now. Focus on eating a well-rounded diet and being active, whether it's by taking walks or lifting weights or any of the many other activities out there. It will help with your energy level immensely. Eventually as you can cut calories a bit more, that should be easier if you have a nice healthy foundation.
Best of luck to you and congratulations on the baby0 -
I'm breastfeeding my second who is 2 months this week. With my first, I gained weight while breastfeeding. I don't want to do that again. Kellymom has research backed information on how to do it safely. Basically, lose slowly, eat healthy, adjust your calorie count down slowly, and add 500 calories a day to your goal. Google "weight loss breastfeeding kellymom." Breastfeeding makes me ravenous too! The magic fat melting breastfeeding happiness only seems to happen about 80% of the time. I guess I'm in the unlucky 20%. I'm looking forward to getting started and would love other breastfeeding moms to connect with.1

not everyone loses weight from breast feeding...
stick to a small deficit but don't worry about it too much, nourishing your baby is more important.0
