Life after any major life change is difficult. Moves, career changes, marriage/divorce, kids...the list goes on and on! But the older we get it seems the less time we have on our hands. I'm in an office 8-10 hours a day

Right there with ya! Add me for motivation. The struggle is real! To be 25 again! :D Hey look at it this way, a one hour workout is only 4% of your day. ;)

I feel it...I'm at the desk 9 hrs a day during the week. I've worked pretty hard this year at getting everything 2 hours and walking for 10-15 minutes..fitbit

I'm 45. I was a teacher. Was too exhausted to do any extra walking or working out. Plus i found out i had hypothyroidism & pre-diabetes.
I found what works for me. This app helps a lot.

As someone who has experienced most of those changes, I can attest to how right you are. As others above me have pointed out, this app has had a huge impact in my life. The friends I have acquired through it have been super supportive and extremely motivating.
Feel free to send me a friend request.

Just start with something hard but not too long like focus t25, and work your way up as you get better at exercising.

I'm 46 and understand "duncan04" completely. But what I've learned to do during my LIFESTYLE CHANGE is to make those brief moments work during the day. I take the stairs instead of the elevators at work. I make smart and healthy choices for my meals and snacks. I drink water and green and oolong tea throughout the day. I stand up from my desk and do squats and do various reps with my 3 lb hand weights. I also take two 15 minute walks while at work. When I'm home I use my small mobile stepper in 10 minute intervals. By doing these small things, I've lost 15 lbs since September 17th. When you put your mind to it, you can do just about ANYTHING! :-)

And remember that we're all in this TOGETHER!

I wish I could be some kind of help, but for obvious reasons...
All I can tell you is what has helped me.
    1. I walk. Try to get 10k steps
    2. I eat healthy. I have severely adjusted my diet because I used to overeat, stress eat, and eat all kinds of junk
    3. I have made a family of friends here on MyFitnessPal who have been very encouraging, motivating, and mostly supportive.

All of these combined have done wonders for me. I wish the same for you. Good luck to you!

I agree that as we get older and our careers change its just gets challenging. I have been really struggling here lately as there is so much junk food around the office.

So true. I struggle everyday. I basically work out of my car so I either bring all of my meals with me in a cooler and eat them cold, or I eat fast food all day six days a week.
I bring my food (Sunday is food prep day), but it's still very tempting to stop somewhere.

This is so much harder than it used to be! I'm 45 yrs old and it takes double the amount of work to lose half the weight that I could even 10 yrs ago.

Amen to that! I am 48y/o and I agree completely. I have had some good luck with it thus far, but it appears to be slowing down again. What's your goal? Mine is 55lbs but I'm already down 33.

@alipsie19 ...the weight isn't the issue. (Maybe those stubborn 10lbs) but toning what age softens and the nutrition are my issues. I just don't eat enough proteins and vitamins in a day. GREAT job on 33 lbs!!

Well just like the weight, toning will come in time. I know you're used to the "slow and steady wins the race" bit so this won't be an issue for you. The good thing is, you've got us in your corner if it gets to be!
