Wanna drop 5-10 lbs for my 25th birthday! HOW????!!

Mmkay so I consider myself to have a pretty nice womanly shape/frame, I have the boobs and the *kitten* and curves and all that, but I could stand to lose a little bit. SOOOOOO I wanna drop this little bit of weight before my birthday in a month. I mainly wanna tone up my legs/thighs and shape up my tummy area as much as I possibly can within a month's time. I will be starting my plan on Monday, the 18th, and my birthday is August 21st. So between now and then, what is the best possible way to drop 5-10 lbs while toning at the same time?

I read something that says I should burn 600 calories a day and that seems like a lot. Especially considering the examples used to achieve this aren't really available to me, for instance playing tennis or volleyball or any kind of sport. I only have access to a pretty mediocre gym (3 cardio machines and basic weights) at my apartment complex and a friend that goes to Zumba classes every Saturday for an hour and half who I've gone with and will continue to go with. Will this be enough exercise?

As far as diet is concerned, I'm very much a meat and potatoes kind of girl so it will be hard for me but I will try my hardest to minimize as much of this as possible. Should I just stick to the normal healthy stuff- chicken, turkey, fish, fruits and veggies?

I need help! It's super important to me to lose this weight, even if it is only 5-10 lbs.

Have you thought about Insanity or Turbo Fire? Insanity is a 60 Day program, so that may work for you.

Run. Seriously. Run/jog with walking for 30 minutes if you can, then add in some jumping jacks, ride a bike, dance your heart out at home. Add in some other strength exercises and you're all set! You can totally do it :)

I should add that in order to workout throughout the day I will run in place at work (alone!) for a minute or two, do jumping jacks in the bathroom, and work out my arms using books when it is slow. You just have to spot times when you can fit in these things.
  • Thanks guys! You all rock so much! More advice please! I'll take all I can get. Oh and am I right about what my diet should be? Fish, chicken, turkey, fruits, veggies? Or am I missing anything?

Looks like you're spot on with your diet! Just make sure you enjoy the food or you'll be miserable. Beans are good too. Lots of fiber and protein.
  • Oh and I should mention that I'm not much of a runner. I suck at it and I hate it, actually. My asthma flares very quickly and I hate the way my boobs feel when I run, and as guys you probably don't understand that but a woman will tell you it SUCKS! With that being said, I will jog with no problem but a run is probably not gonna happen, lol.

You should try Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 or 30 Day Shred. I am on the last week of Ripped in 30 and I have lost 9 pounds and 3 inches around my waist (as well as various inches all over) - all in 30 days (today is the 30th day since I started). It will make you sweat, but it is totally worth it! Good luck!

I definitely second this! I've used her 30 Day Shred DVD, and I'm currently doing Ripped in 30. Even though I haven't followed them faithfully for 30 whole days, I've lost plenty of inches, and I always look incredibly toned! The DVDs are only 25-35 minutes a day, and you can even throw in some cardio if you have the time or desire.
You can find the DVDs at most Targets, Wal-Marts, etc, or on Amazon :).
