Toronto Half Marathon May 7th, Training Tips!

Hello everyone!

This will be my second Half Marathon and I'm pumped. My first was 2 years ago, completed in 2.5hrs. I would like to reduce that for sure.

I had a 3 month training program I used before which included interval training, long distance training, sprinting and walking.

What tools have any of you used to help train for a half?

    My strategy was to include an extra running day during the week (I usually only run on weekends), and gradually increase my mileage weekly. I only ever made it to 10 miles in training.

    I ran my first in 2:25, and then I went back to only running on weekends. A month later I did another in 2:15.

    There's obviously better ways to train, but I'm not enough of a runner to practice hill intervals, tempo runs, etc.
