    Sportline 345-
    love it
you can define all kinds of things including HR- stride in metric and u.s.
also your weight and its really easy to use.
-one mile would depend on your stride?
    check it out

well there are 5280 feet in a mile... so if you figure each step is about a foot then id estimate there are between 5000-6000(if you take short steps) in a mile. :P

I have an Omron. Not sure what the model is but I really like it and it seems accurate. I found this info on the web:

    http://www.thewalkingsite.com/10000steps.html

"Maybe you have heard the recent guidelines about walking 10,000 steps per day. How far is 10,000 steps anyway? The average person's stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile, and 10,000 steps is close to 5 miles."
  • I don't worry so much about miles. I just try to walk 10,000 steps a day. I have an Omron and love it.

10,000 steps is close to five miles (depending on stride length) I have found that to be accurate on my sportline.
