Hello everyone, I started a diet (1000 calories a day) ten days ago, I'm eating 2g of protein per kilo of my body weight, carrots, broccoli, salads, lentils and quinoa, but I still lose a lot of muscle mass, but also fat. My initial weight was 53 kg and this is currently 49.5, what should I do if my final goal is to have a six pack?

If you don't want to lose muscle, I wouldn't have such a steep deficit, then eat aqueqate protein (which you say you are doing), then do some form of resistance training.

1000 calories is a ridiculous goal. All you need to do is eat in a moderate caloric deficit and lift weights.1

If I'm doing the conversion correctly your around 5ft, 1 inch and 109lbs? This puts your bmi at a 20.6, which is at the lowish end of a healthy bmi. OP, if you still want to lose a few pounds you still have some wiggle room in the healthy range, but your goal at this point should be .5lb a week, since you have so little to lose. Enter your stats into MFP, set the goal for .5lb a week, and then follow the calorie number it gives you-this has the deficit you need already built in. Also make sure you don't have an unhealthy final weight in mind-the bmi chart is a great guideline to go by and it's what most doctors use.
One more thing-in maintenance you'll have a weight range, not a set weight, since our weight will fluctuate daily from things like hormones, sodium intake, digestion periods etc. Most people have a 3-5lb range.0 -
Lift more. If I can do math today, in my opinion, more weight loss could lead to medical problems. (and I say that as a former bulimic)0

What did you figure for her bmi? I'm converting and may have messed something up, but I got a bmi of 20.6? That's still solidly in the healthy range and she could still lose a few more pounds and still be ok.0 -

If you use the metric measurements she gave us, it's 20.3. My math has her at 106 pounds and my experience is that adults under 100 pounds get dehydrated with any illness. IV rehydration is both time consuming and expensive. I said it's my opinion, and I will stand by it, because it's just an opinion.0
