Are there any activities you could join or volunteer opportunities that would interest you in your area?

Maybe you could volunteer and spend time with a lonely senior. Check your local newspaper or look online for your area

You didn't mention Seasonal Affective Disorder but I'll throw it out there just in case. I have a SAD light that really helps improve my mood. Exercise does too. When I'm down the last thing I want to do is jump around, but sometimes I can get myself out for a good walk.

It stinks that you're feeling sad and lonely. One "self talk" method I've used is asking myself "If I were feeling strong and resilient, what actions would I be taking right now?".

You dont offer up anything about your situation as to why your lonely so its a little hard to throw advice at you about not eating. If your able get out, get creative.. take a class, go to the gym, there are always events giving on at the library...try to meet new people. Join weight watchers, youll meet people at the meetings...find non food activities to occupy your time.

Where do u work out? I met a whole new group of friends through a swim fitness at my local ymca..One lady lives a couple blocks away. If u don't go to workout volunteer. Nothing makes u feel better and busy than helping the elderly or poor. Plus it will keep u active and u will meet people. Do u like animals..walking dogs at a local shelter is good too or u can get paid for it. Being busy is the only way to beat calories and the holidays..if that doesn't work..does anyone on here know a good thread that will lift her up on here..u can do this!

I'm sending you tons of hugs. All of the advice in the other replies is excellent. Take it. Remember that you are not alone.

Bible, pray, a lot, remember that YOU MATTER AND YOU ARE LOVED! This forum is supposed to offer support. I need it, too. I'd request your friendship if I knew how to. I have some tips. I still have a way to go, but I've made some progress.
