Hi all,
I'm new to the site. I joined a week or so ago after hearing so much about the site from my fellow firefighters. I was really bummed though when I started out doing so well, doing Tae-Bo three days straight, only to jump on the scale and be up 2 lbs
but I hope to rebound and finish strong next week!!

That 2 lbs can mean many things.
1)It could just be retained water which goes away quick.
2) You probably gained some muscle
3) Food and liquids were probably still in your system.
The only way you can gain 2lbs in that short a time is if you ate 7000 calories ON TOP of the 2000cals your body needs to function. So unless you ate 11000 in 2-3 days you didn't gain 2 lbs of fat.
Hope that made you feel better and welcome to MFP0 -
Hi my name is Angela and I just wanted to encourage you to continue to exercise. The scales can be a little deceptive when you exercise because you are building muscle and that is not reflected on the scale. I am going through the same thing right now but I know from past experience that how my clothes are fitting and my measurements are alot better indicator of weight loss. Keep up the exercise and you will see a change in your body as long as you don't go crazy with calorie intake. It may take longer than you anticipated but it will happen. Welcome to the site. It is a very simple way to keep track of calorie intake and exercise.0

Keep it up and you will see results! Use the food diary - that helps as well. My weight fluctuates 2-3 pounds at times and I think it is due to sodium + water retention. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want. If you want to get un-bummed, look at the success stories on this site it is really motivational to see other succeed. Good luck!0
