Often I get this need to taste something but im not necessarily hungry, does anyone else get this and how do you deal with it?

  • I have a cup of nice warm broth, or some hot tea like a flavored type, or suck on a hard candy.

I like wasabi nori snacks. Very "punchy" flavor, almost no calories, and the aftertaste keeps me from wanting to eat anything else

I chew gum. Yum Yum gum comes in a gazillion flavors. Toffee and peanut butter are both good.

Hickory Farms mini mint melties are 3 calories a piece and have a nice flavor for times like this.

I drink some hot tea! There are tons of flavors out there and it's fun trying out new ones. Without any sweetener tea is 0 calories! Woo hoo!

In those instances I chew gum or drink tea or infused water.

Jolly Ranchers. A lot of taste for a little piece of candy.

Do you ever get Jolly rancher dragon breath from those? I tried using those for this very purpose but man did they make my breath unbearable!

Newmeadow, yes, those are the mints. I dole them out, usually about 5 at a time, and let them melt on my tongue one at a time with some time in between each melt. They last surprisingly long that way.

Luckily, I can only purchase them around Christmas, in the malls. So one bag is all I get (it's a bigger bag than the one you have pictured, though).

Have to agree with the others, Id probably go for some no or low calorie drink, hot tea when its cool, or diet soda when it's hot. I use stevia in my tea, so that has no calories. In some I use a a little bit of cashew milk but thats very low cal. If I eat candy its extremely hard to stop =/

This is my struggle! I have some flavored sparkling water or hot tea. Honestly, this issue is how I got into this problem because I'd just grab a beer!

It may sound silly but I clean my teeth. It gives me a clean mouth and removes the need for adding a taste or food.

Once at work I wanted flavor without calories or caffeine. I found a small jar of "Italian Seasoning" and put a spoonful of it in hot water to make a tea. It worked.

Sparkling water, like parried or a gazillion brands out now. I have been digging hot tea before bed.
