I mean....I have used a gadget (food scale), and have lessened the effects of my chronic illnesses through MFP. I've lost 46 pounds so far (personal testimonial)....There's science to CICO, but I definitely don't think I would have been as effective without a gadget!

I'm pretty sure this is referring to magic pills and body wrap things. A kitchen scale, while a valuable weight loss tool, is just a basic kitchen tool. It was not invented for the weight loss purpose.

There is a new trend in the states for this product line called "It Works". It's a pyramid style sales scheme that sells vitamins and body wraps claiming to make all your health and beauty dreams come true. It's vitamins so it's not neccissary bad for you, but no. It doesn't actually work.

I work at a nursing home from 4 am to 7 am and most of the residents leave their televisions on all night, so by the time I arrive, the infomercials are in full swing! There's one specifically for the elderly (a pill I think) that lowers blood pressure, heals back pain AND burns fat quickly. AMAZING.
