Unsure of what's happening

After not having much success with the new WW program (points plus - I'd lost nearly 50 pounds on the previous WW), I decided to see what would happen if I switched to solely using MFP (had used them together, before).
I've gained!! I'm opening my diary for a time (hope I can close it again should I want). I did more exercise - varied this week, I mean - and seem to have gained. I know that TOM is near but, really, it's getting frustrating. Granted, I do feel and look a bit thinner but can't believe what's happened.
I know I went over a bit, but I also did not log any of my warm-ups for my ballet classes. I'm wondering if this is related to my question on net calories.

I quickly glanced at your diary and while the food looks good, I am not sure about your exercise calories. Are you sure you are burning that much?0
-
The only reason why I'm saying that is because even though I know I'm small, I don't even burn 700 calories running for over an hour.0

I also quickly looked at your diary and noticed you are burning A LOT of calories. I do, kickboxing, running, intense strength training and I rarely burn over 550. Also, it looks like you are eating an awful lot of carbs and sugar (and you exercise does up your carb allowance so if that is wrong you may actually be eating too many). Try cutting back on some of those and the weight should start to drop off again.
If you are burning that many calories please tell me what you are doing. If you are using MFP to estimate the system tends to overestimate by A LOT. I would eat 1/2 my exercise calories back if you are doing that. Also, if you can get a HRM with a chest strap (they are the most accurate). I have the Polar FT4 and love it.0 -
I'm a male who's over 200lb. and I'm almost falling out after a training session that burns 700 calories. I think you're probably vastly overestimating your calories burned. When I use the MFP calorie estimator I usually put in 1/2 to 2/3 of the time I actually did something, and sometimes that's still too many.0

Also, DON'T forget to break out your tape measure. Last time I plateaued (weight wise) I broke out the tape measure and even though it seemed I'd gained a pound, I'd lost an inch around my waist! SO, don't forget to measure.0

Im no expert but id check the gltuen free bread, id pt money on it that those cals are wrong and its not giving you a carb allowance for it either..which would be high as it's still bread!0

Yep. Expect anywhere from 90-120 cals/slice of GF bread, and about 17-24 carbs per slice, depending on the brand and the ingredients.
Also, agreed on the calorie burn. I'm lucky to burn 350 calories in a 45 minute session of intense interval cardio. My running has gotten so "efficient" I burn less than 100 cals/mile.0 -
I actually under-report my exercise calories. I wear a polar FT40 HRM for all classes and workouts, I train 22 hours in ballet classes and have recently (this week!!) gone back to the gym to cross-train to help tone the back fat. I'm within about 15 pounds of my upper goal weight. I do 20-30 minutes on the elliptical and then have been doing upper body weights, and stretching.
Ener-G corn loaf (not wheat) is 40 calories a slice with 3 grams of fiber per slice. I inputted that info myself (albeit incorrectly at the time - 2 slices is actually 80 calories but I put in 2 as 40, hence the "2 servings of 2 slices" entry).
re: Tape measure - that's why I'm really, REALLY confused. I'm looking better in the mirror (and leotards don't lie!!), feeling better in class and in clothes (not bloated) but yet the scale's going UP! Is this normal when one changes routine? I'm not sure if the weight lifting might be having some influence this week (and the one day last week) and I'll see a major loss in the next week or so. This is the highest weight I've been for the past year!!0 -
You could also be gaining muscle due to the added strength training. Muscle weighs more than fat.0

That's what one of my ballet teachers said today. She said I was looking leaner and not to worry about the scale. It's still kinda frustrating though....0
