Hey elementary school teachers!

First of all I hope you're enjoying your summer vacation and NOT thinking about school too much!

I'm doing a bit of research and need to know, what is your activity level set at?

I teach 5th grade. We have a pretty large school and i set my level to lightly active during the school year. I feel that although i am on my feet all day, there is not allow of actual walking going on. Ill be wearing my heart rate monitor when the year starts. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

I graduated last May and spent last school year subbing. I have mine set at lightly active since when teaching I am on my feet most of the day and I have kids so when I wasn't subbing I was chasing them ;) I will keep it on lightly active this year, I got a job teaching 5/6 grade and I will be on my feet most of the day.

I teach Grade 8, all classes including gym, stand and walk about pretty well all day but have activity level set to sedentary. Compared to actively walking I do a lot less than that. I know that standing might require slightly more cals than sitting but not a lot I figure.

It does say on there for light that being on your feet all day is light. IDK it has worked for me :)

Mine is set to lightly active - I'm standing on my feet pretty much of the time, true, but I'm not sure standing burns too many calories. However, my classroom is downstairs. So I go up & down steps sometimes a dozen times a day because most of the building (office, lunch room, work room, specialists classrooms, etc.) are all on the upper level. So that adds a level of activity. It's great exercise!
    Have a great summer :-)
