Hi...I'm a 36 yo 5"4 female at 145 lbs, trying to get to 120. I cut out all sugar and most carbs 3 weeks ago and have followed the 21 Day Fix exercise plan on top of getting 10k steps 5 days a week at work. I started at 151...dropped the first week to 145 and today was back to 147! I have kept between 800 and 1200 calories and have only cheated one meal and had a hamburger. Why am I not losing anything? I'm going for just straight up skinny, I don't want anything getting any bigger, especially my arms. Advice on why I'm not losing and how to just drop fat asap?

Sounds like you are doing good. In 3 weeks, you have lost 4 or 5 pounds. Keep at it!

As above you are doing great it just takes a bit of time and your weight will go up and down a bit as long as its more down that up .

You are losing... its just not happening at the pace you want. Give it time, you want to lose it and keep it off.

I have been doing my thing since October. There were times I was very discourage as I didn't lose weight in a linear fashion at all. I only had 15 lbs to lose so I think that was part of the issue. It's really hard when you are trying so hard and you don't get that result. Like you I lost about 5 lbs the first week. Most of that, I assume, was bloating/water from my previous eating. Then 3-4 weeks went by and NOTHING. It was hard because I was only doing 1200 calories or so a day. I even posted here about no loss. I ended up increasing my calories just a tad. About a week later, whooosh, I lost 3 lbs seemingly overnight. Then nothing, and then I wooosh again. So I've determined that I'm going to lose weight in this fashion. It took awhile to wrap my brain around it and be okay with it. Anyway, since October, I am now down 15 lbs and have met (and actually exceeded) my goal.

I would say to just hang in there but also, be fanatical about weighing your food. It makes a huge difference.

The big weight loss was water depletion mainly from going low carb - your body was stripped of glycogen and the bonded water

Nobody has a scale weight - they have a scale weight range - water weight is a large component in our scale weight and this fluctuates with hormones, change-up in exercise, sodium, carb content of meals.

How are you logging your calories? Are you weighing everything on a digital scale and double checking the MFP database (because a huge number of the entries are just incorrect) against other databases and pack sizes

You cannot judge weight loss (true weight loss) week by week but over rolling 6-8 week cycles

Sounds like your activity is decent - what you need to do is get your calorie counting and expectations and knowledge in line

If you are dropping ON AVERAGE ~1-2 lbs/week, then you're doing well. It's not uncommon to have an initial weight drop and then a stall as your body gets stressed and acclimates. Keep on going. You're doing just fine. Now if you maintain that weight for another 3 weeks, then it's time to make an adjustment.

I would stress though that days of 800 calories is not enough. You need to fuel your body. You should not be eating any less than 1200 cal/day. Going for the quick fix is not a good thing and will make maintaining your results WAY more difficult over the long run.
