Hello all you folks,
I have loved reading all the stories of encouragement and advice. I am 60 years old, 5ft tall and have added some rolls that make my clothes too tight. My goal is to lose 10-12lbs. Am counting calories and started walking at least 2 miles a day. I haven't lost a pound this week, but I just started Monday. I am scared to death I won't lose like I want to. I have also gotten a friend to walk with me. it is good to have a buddy. So, I am on a mission and pray every day for strength, good attitude and success.

Welcome!!! Sometimes success is not measured in pounds. I have been at this off and on since Jan 3. I have lost FOUR pounds. Yes, it is crushing and not what I expected. BUT, my shorts are loose, I need new bras, and have gotten some positive comments about my backside lately. There was a woman in my Zumba class that had not lost ONE single pound, but was down two dress sizes. My point is, the changes you are making are GREAT for your body even if that blessed scale does not tell you. Take your measurements, if you haven't already. You will keep up a great attitude and have awesome success if you focus on the changes, not the scale. You will do GREAT!!!!

I'm hoping, praying, and doing the sacred dance...whatever that is, that THIS time it works!

I went to the doctor, got a diet from him, stayed on it religiously, and GAINED 10 pounds. Then I found out, he'd given me the page for men. AAGGHHHH!!!

I tried WW. Way too time consuming trying to calculate point value, unless you stick to their products. No loss, no gain.

I'm 57, widowed 16 years, work in a very high stress job with no place to walk or exercise. This week, I'm off. So, I decided to make the very most of it and try one more time to give me back to myself...the me inside does not match the me I see in the mirror.

I'm not looking for a quick-fix or a miracle. I'm looking for a new way of life...with connections to other friends who really "get it". Maybe just to give moral support and encouragement.

Good luck to all of us and may we ALL reach our goals!
