Last time I did an introduction was months and months ago.

I think I had even gained weight since then and lost some.

I have made it a goal to atleast get down to 150... But me and my husband are in a competion to lose 36lbs... first one down gets to spend 50 bucks on something they want. (he wants a video game) I'm thinking I might need some bra's lol. I refuse to buy any cloths till i'm atleast close to where I need to be.

I've been doing great. Exercing atleast 4 days a week. (i am up to 30 min on the eliptical burning me 300 cals) and I eat fruits or veggies with every meal.

I just have one problem. I binge at night..... (I need to make myself go to bed earlier so I dont do that) and I know it has something to do with being an emotional eater. and... well... things have been rough lately.

Anyone else here over come emotional eating?

Any advice?

I am sure someone will have an answer for you for binge eating but I don't. I have never had that problem. But welcome back to MFP! You must have loved it then or you wouldn't be here now. So you know how great it is here. Post you a new thread about the binge eating in another message board and see if you can get a response. Hope that helps!

:glasses: Maybe try eating a spoon full of peanut butter. That's what I do at night when I'm feeling like I want to binge. It helps me. Good luck. You can do it. Pam

Hello and welcome back to MFP. You will love it here if you don't already. Everyone is so supportive and understanding here and they know what you are going thru, because we are trying to do the same thing. I love this site, but I guess you already know this. I just wanted to wish you good luck on your weight loss journey. You can do this.

I'm a binge eater too and really for me overcoming it was a mental battle.

    1. I drink water when I want to binge instead of eating.
    2. I simply talk myself out of it.
    3. If I'm really desperate I actually have a can of mushrooms. It fills me and it's low in calories so...

So I don't know HOW helpful that is but maybe when you get the urge to eat call a friend, or talk to your husband instead of eating. Find a way to release that stress other then by using food.

:) Good luck in your journey!

Hmmm...I'm somewhat in the same boat with the evening thing. Here's a couple thoughts:

    1. Consider exercising in the A.M. ~ I found this decreases my desire for food
    1. Healthy snacks around 4-5 (include salad type foods for snacks)
    2. Eat smaller portions for dinner
    3. Treat yourself to a small dessert
    4. Perhaps consider adding a 10 min exercise ( I highly recommend the 10 min Kettleball DVD :-)
    5. Avoid breads in the evening.

Lastly, fill your time with your hubby with things that occupy your thinking, thereby avoiding the kitchen. Read, Attack a section of the home, Relax and chat it up, Play a game. I find this helps more than anything else in keeping me from the fridge.

    Enjoy the experience!
