Energy balance and training dictate fat loss/gain. Which fruits fit in to one's diet is purely preference. There is not a specific answer to your question.

Nothing wrong with watermelon if you like it. Just make it fit into your calorie goals. Calories are the #1 most important thing to weight loss/gain.

Eat whichever fruits you like. Just log the calories so you stay at your goal.

Fruits (and veggies) contain all kinds of good micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, and more). They're a part of any healthy diet, including during weight loss.

So eat some. As long as you stay under your maintenance calories (such as by hitting a deficit calorie goal), you'll lose weight. There's nothing magic - good or bad - about any food or food group when it comes to weight loss.

If you eat whole fruit (apple, watermelon, whatever), rather than juice or some other derivative product, you also get some goodness (such as fiber) that may not be in the derivative, which IMO is one good reason to prefer whole fruit.

Weight loss is about calories: Eat fewer than you burn. Health includes eating the right foods to get those calories: Protein, healthy fats, fruit & veggies, all in reasonable proportions.

There are no bad foods when it comes to weight loss. It's all about energy balance/calories.

Eat what you like, but weigh and log it. That's it.

I only look at the sugar content. I like to keep my sugar intake low
