I'm starting Insanity Max30 tomorrow. Anyone done it? If so, how did you estimate your daily burn? I don't have a heart rate monitor. I think a long while back I read someone advise recording it as circuit training. Does anyone know if that's a close enough estimate? Thanks.

I did a few of max 30 videos but then decided to try strenght training instead.
For me (140 lbs, 26 years old) the rule of thumb is this: 30 minutes of exercise is roughly 200 calories burned. I based this estimate on my on and off use of a heart rate monitor during relatively intense workouts. Could be a bit more if the workout is really REALLY intense. I used to do Insanity and Focus T25 and always logged them as circuit training.
The most important part - MFP overestimates the caloried burned. For example, if I log 60 minutes of circuit training, MFP suggests that I burned 504 calories while in reality (HRM) I burned only 350-400 calories. The difference in what I think I burned as opposed to the real number can amount to a lot over a month or so. Anyway, luckily MFP allows you to enter calorie burn manually so you don't lose your progress by blindly trusting the app and overestimating your workout impact0
