I have added up all the sugar I've had to far today. 16g. The app tells me I've had 72. What up with that.

    MFP counts all sugar. Are you counting all sugar or just added sugar?

    This. My guess is OP is adding up sugar on labels of packaged food and forgetting that foods like fruits and vegetables also have sugar which is included in the MFP total.
