Help in scheduling

ok. I have gotten the B-in law, wife and Niece joining me exercising every night so I decided to come up with a schedule that will work around our semi-limited equipment. My typical night was 30 - 60 minutes on bike, 8 minute Tae-Bo, Weights, then Legendary Abs routine and if I felt up to it, 30 more minutes on bike. I did come to a couple of realizations and now do Abs every other night and as far as weights I do Arms and Legs on M-W-F and Chest, shoulders and back on T-T-S. Sunday is for Golf and Pool. Someone on another post said Weights should come before Cardio. Is doing Cardio every night good or bad? Is doing bike and tae-bo ok? I wanted the variety but is it all too much? We're all having fun doing this together but there is just so much information out there it is hard to make enough sense of it to work out a schedule. I tried to do a copy and paste of the schedule on here to make it less confusing, but it didnt work. So if ya'll have any suggestions, feel free and any questions too. Thanks!

Sounds like fun! You are just fine to do cardio every night, though its good to change the intensity within the week and have hard, medium, and recovery/easy days. There is nothing wrong with moving and working the heart daily - just stay in tune with your joints and if they hurt take an easy day. Good call on roating weight lifting days and I personally like to do cardio before weights as I think it warms my muscles up, but I'm curious what others say.0

Doing cardio every night is just fine. Strength should not be every night for the same areas. Because you are doing Arms and Legs one day and Chest, Back, shoulders another day this is fine. Strength training requires adequate recovery as this is important in developing muscles.
Variety is great with cardio. Your body will tell you if you are doing too much. If you are feeling great and not hurting or fatiguing then you should be alright. I either run outdoors or use the elliptical 7 days a week and am just fine.
A lot of people have differing opinions on whether you should do weights then cardio in your routine or cardio then weights. It makes sense to me to do strength first then cardio. If ya do cardio first then you are winded and all sweaty for doing weights...but this is just my preference no science behind my decision. I know people who do cardio first. Think about which is your primary goal, losing weight (cardio) or toning up (strength). If cardio, then do it first because its your primary focus and you want to make sure you have energy for it and are putting your all into it. Just my 2 cents.
Sounds like you all are doing awesome! Keep up the great workouts!0 -
Thanks. That was the conclusion I reached too (Weight loss is primary till I get to 185) although I have lost close to 4" in my waist and if I can get back into 32's as comfortably as my old 36's (nice and loose) before I hit 185 I will be quite happy and probably stop or at least switch focus. But I have to get below 200. I have seen that since Reagan was Pres...lol. The goal of 185 was fairly arbitrary for me. I saw that my "Ideal" weight was 136-183 and thought "Nope 185"...lol:laugh:0
