Pizza Fail!

There was nothing insulting in those posts. It's concerning that in multiple threads you've insisted that losing 26 lbs in 30 days was healthy because you were eating 1600 calories. That is super fast weight loss; how fast depends on where you started. You're having the issue you posted in this thread and you also said in another that you started your period two weeks after the last one. Irregular periods, gallstones, and many other issues can come from rapid weight loss.
Having folks show concern by pointing these things out is something for which to be thankful.17 -
You could have either simply been exposed to the flu, or rotavirus, or salmonella poisoning. Gall stones are a possibility but generally that will end up with pain that will make you think you're having a heart attack, not necessarily lower abdominal pain. But.. hey.. I'm no doctor, I've simply had gallstone attacks in the past and know they feel like a hot knife being thrust through your sternum under your rib cage, usually in the middle or right hand side. Anyway, did anyone else who ate the pizza feel ill?2

Undiagnosed gallbladder disease can sneak up on someone after they have lost a lot of weight in a short period of time. The gallbladder doesn't handle it well. Put that on top of a greasy meal (pizza yum) and you are left running to the toilet (gallbladder released all the bile at once-induces diarrhea). Are you having (or had over the last few years) any pain right under the rib cage or between your shoulder blades? Have you experienced an urgent need to go to the bathroom after a fatty meal (think fried fish, french fries etc.). The gallbladder doesn't necessarily have to have stones, it could be greatly scarred though. Or you could have "gastric dumping syndrome."
Many times, unless the gallbladder is very diseased, you can manage it without removal. You just have to be weary of high fat meals.6 -
I thought I have read that gallbladder problems can develop after rapid weight loss. For instance, people who have weight loss surgery run the risk of gallbladder problems.2

OK
Good luck to you then

I haven't had quite so violent a reaction but I treated myself to steak frites last week and my stomach was pretty unhappy after. The treats aren't quite the treats we think they are going to be after a stretch of eating fresh and un-fried.0

It was the flu.0

Well, that will do it! I hope you feel better.
Nobody insulted you anywhere at all. He simply made a comment about your rate of weight loss, and asked if you had a lot of weight to lose. That's really fast weight loss and if you can lose that much while eating 1600 cals more power to you.

Coca-Cola. I used to drink 2-3 cans a day of the stuff. Then I gave it up during an earlier period of getting back into shape. After only a month off it, I discovered it had become undrinkable. It didn't make me sick or anything like that; it just tasted like kitten.
Seems I didn't really like it. I was just used to it.0 -

Is the "I'm sorry for jumping down the throat of someone who expressed an interest in my overall health and wellbeing" implied in that statement?
Hope you feel better soon OP, but please do consider slowing down that rate of loss.15 -
ok Im sorry but 26 pounds in a month? People get upset when I say I lost 24lbs in 9 weeks and I get it. I lost 1lb a day when I had an eating disorder. 26lbs in a month is a lot. Were you retaining water? If that is what you're losing based on the recommendations of the app it means you logged your activity level wrong or something because it is NOT healthy to lose 1lb per day at all and that's almost what you did. You can destroy your body if you keep it up. I would see your dr to make sure you weren't retaining too much fluid or something...otherwise I'd adjust your diary because whether you want to hear it or not - that's not healthy.3

Oh and I just read it was the flu and I hope you feel better. I stand by the rest. You dont want your body to give out. I have low vitamin D and I had a severe bone injury likely related to it...if you lose too quick your body can have negative consequences. We're not judging, just warning you and trying to help prevent those negative things.0

I'd try switching to a healthier pizza. Try thin crust pizza and different brands plus try spinach pizza. Maybe even try making your own. I don't know what pizza you had though. Just something to think about. Also, you can order pizza without the tomato sauce. I didn't think that was possible, but it tasted good to me.
Losing weight fast can contribute to gallbladder stones. If you can, I'd recommend losing weight slowly. It's better on your body and most likely to stick because you give your body time to adjust to the change.1 -

Worst I've ever had is mild to moderate cramps and a touch of the runs. Vomiting in particular is a bad sign and makes me think food poisoning or stomach virus rather than a normal reaction.
I would say that if you have really had a big enough deficit to lose 26lb in 35 days, you are crash dieting and may not be in the best of health, making you more vulnerable to infections. I recommend reducing your deficit and slowing your weight loss down.
Pizza is not "bad" and there is no need to avoid it. I know you feel like that right now, but that is just an instinctive reaction to throwing up after eating something - it is not a reliable guide to what actually caused the vomiting.
I would agree with this. 26lbs in 35 days is a lot, even accounting for water weight. Do you have a lot of weight to lose?
This, as well as the original comment are the reason why I'm not going to participate in this community any further. My post was not written for me to be insulted by my weight loss. I eat 1600 cal a day plus. I take 2 mile walks sometimes and I do aerobics sometimes. I eat three medium sized meals a day and two snacks. I drink about five bottles of water. Does any of that sound unhealthy to you? Does the fact that I ate pizza with in my calorie goal sound unhealthy? This app is meant to be supportive not judgmental. I am not sorry that by following the suggestions on this app I am losing more weight than suggested. Please feel free to no longer comment.
lol...this is the biggest overreaction to helpful comments I think I've ever seen on here! you come on here sick and asking why...others give suggestions and you throw a fit? unbelievable!8 -
Definition of hangry:
Hangry
When you are so hungry that your lack of food causes you to become angry, frustrated or both.
That's a really strong over-reaction to a helpful first response and then someone showing concern that you have a healthy rate of weight loss. Two strangers freely giving up a little bit of their time for no reward to try and help you.
GWS and then maybe have a long hard think about things?12 -

Morbidly obese people lose really quickly at first, you can't say if it is healthy or not unless she's more than a few months out. My friend is crazy tall [6+ feet] and started over 300 lbs and she lost that amount her first month. Her weight loss has slowed down a lot since then and now she's losing at a more normal rate.0 -
