So, not quite two weeks later....

I've been dieting and exercising faithfully now for almost two weeks and have lost five pounds. Five pounds didn't really seem like much to me, but yesterday I was cleaning out my pantry and found several bags of dried beans. Each bag weighs one pound. I lined five of them up side by side then lifted them all at once. Wow. THAT is five pounds?! What a chunk of weight! It was encouraging to feel in my hands how much weight I had actually lost. It was a great feeling to know I eliminated that much junk from my body! My clothes already fit a bit better too. I'm so excited! I'm actually doing this!

It really is amazing how much 5lbs can make a difference. I imagine the amount of weight in bags of sugar or chicken. Imagine carrying that additional weight around once you've lost it!! Congrats to you and keep up the great work :-)0

That's awesome! I did something similar the other day at the grocery store with a 10 lb bag of potatoes... WOW! It's amazing how much we carried around every day and didn't realize it.0

Way to go! 5 pounds doesn't sound like much but when you put it into perspective like that, it really is a lot! Keep up the good work. Go you!0

I too have lost 5 lbs and have been here about 2 weeks, and was just a little dissapointed at only 5 pounds, so thank you for reminding me how really heavy 5 pounds can be. Good Job!0

I started on here 2 1/2 months ago and have lost 30 lbs. My first few weeks were tough to swallow because it seems very slow - but keep in mind - as many say slow and steady wins the race. I thought it would take forever to be able to say i lost 30 lbs and i am not even half way to my goal. So stick with it - it is worth it i promise!!0

I had that realization a little while ago now that I've lost about 25 pounds (since October). Every time I pick up my 18 month old daughter I think about the fact that I used to carry that on my body all of the time. No wonder I was so tired.0
