Weekend binge, scale drops a lb - How?

How is it possible I lost a lb when I ate like an a** hole for two days straight? About 2000 calories over what I have been eating a day. I have not even been restricting too much. I've been at around 1800/day. That's not too far under maintenance...

Reckless eating and slothery especially after a long very active, very strict streak seems to do that. It's water weight, you did the fat loss when you didn't eat like an a** hole. Letting loose a bit caused that previous loss to become visible on a scale.

Most likely something like that. My 2 Christmas parties this weekend have 2000kcal in various pies and cakes alone, and the scale is down 2.9lbs.

Many people's weights vary day-to-day, or even within a single day by a few pounds. For pre-menopausal women, the monthly cycle can have a big effect. Most of this is water weight. Salt has a big effect on this. Some find that their weight goes up a day or two after eating something particularly salty.

It can take days or even weeks sometimes for the scale to register what you eat. You were probably just due to drop weight... what you ate yesterday has nothing to do with it.

Or the overeating got your body to relax. Something about stress leads to cortisol leads to weight gain. Calling it "magic" is easier.

How does one eat like an A-Hole? Does one eat BBQed panda? Eat sloppily on public transit? Swear like a sailor?
