Just got my labs yesterday. WOW!!!!!! Found MFP on my android while waiting for the Doc. After my lab results yesterday I decided to come here to finish my goal. Started at 257.9 at the Dr.s office on December 7th 2010, waited until after Christmas to do anything; because let's be real......who's REALLY going to change their lifestyle during the holidays.......
Jan 5th 2011 was my wake-up call CHO 273, TriG 165, LDL 199 and BP 149/90. Needless to say, even though I'm 6'1"...Not good and the Dr. wanted to put me on CHO meds. I asked for a 6 mos reprieve. He agreed....Yesterday, I showed him what was possible with some determination. Weigh in: 226.9, CHO 220 (-53), TriG 106 (-59), LDL 153 (-46) finally BP 120/62. YIPPIE KAI AYE EhhhE (we know the rest). So it can be done, and WITHOUT DRUGS!
Best of all my wife and I are not done......still working to our ultimate goal, hopefully by Christmas.....THAT and Thanksgiving will be the ultimate challenge........

Excellent job - keep up the good work & glad to hear you have good support with your wife! You're right - you can change the medication status - I've done it too! Self discipline pays off - so keep at it! Need encouragement - you can always turn to your MFP friends!0

People prove how awesome they are when they set their minds to working out and meeting their goals. CONGRATS!! :flowerforyou: You did it and are still doing it. I bet the doctor was surprised you had such determination and strength. It's great your wife helped support you and is encouraging you the rest of the way. GOOD for you BOTH!0

Thanks all......yeah I wish I'd taken a picture when the "lightbulb" clicked on as he was looking at calculating my results.......PRICELESS!!!!!! He asked me if I'd been dieting....I said "no" I changed my eating lifestyle and stopped bad habits.....yeah there's exercise too...but for those of you who have ever been to Western WA......exercise is at a premimum, especially when you're talking outdoors......we're just now getting into late spring/summer.
Again....thank you....I am a piker compared to some of you here.......keep up the great work......0
