Vitamins have really helped.

I noticed after my first month of MFP and watching what I eat and exercising that I wasn't getting enough of some pretty important vitamins. I have cut down on cheese and juice so calcium and vitamin C have taken a hit.
So I went to a health store and picked up a good mens fitness multi vitamin. I can tell you after 2 weeks using it I can really notice a difference in how I feel. I don't feel tired in the mornings anymore. No more coffee required. I don't get tired in the afternoon anymore. I really feel better.
Downside is that I usually exercise in the evening and I find that my body stays jazzed up longer now than it used to which is making it hard to get to sleep at night. Guess it is time to start working out in the morning.
Just thought I would share this as you don't see alot of discussion regarding making sure you are getting all your nutrients. I didn't realize how much it can make a difference.

I should mention that I don't know if it is related but it is a heck of a coincidence but I had been stuck at a plateau for almost 3 weeks but since the vitamins I have started moving again. I wonder if my body was holding out on me because of vitamin deficiency.0

See ur doctor and get ur blood tested. I saw the benefits of a multi-vitamin too, but my doc put me on B12, D3 and Fish Oil too. Seems to be even better.
Will no for sure in 10 weeks when my blood is tested again0 -
Will be visiting my doc soon going to get into more vitamins only taking daily multi-vitamin now want to add a fish oil looking at a couple others not sure though will check with doc first f.y.i0

I'm the same way. If I exercise at night; I'm wide awake for the next several hours. Getting to sleep is miserable, especially if your legs ache from the exercise, you are wired from your work-out; and then add some of that summer heat ....
So, I get up a little earlier, and hit the treadmill before I go in. I thought I'd hate it; but it turns out that after 20+ minutes on the treadmill; not only am I wide awake, I'm in a better mood and my appetite for breakfast is less than it normally is.0 -
I started taking the Womens Ultra Mega Active from GNC! I just started taking them on Saturday (as in a few days ago). I really didn't expect to feel a difference for about a week or two, I was soooooo lethargic all the time! But I can already see a difference. Who knew?!0

I've been thinking about getting a multi-vitamin as well...anyone think we're too old for the adult gummy multi-vitamin or are there better suited ones with better nutrients?0

Gummy vitamins are cool but hey don't have as much nutrients as regular multivitamins. Give yourself the real thing leave the gummies for the kids!!0 -

The amount of nutrients isn't really the concern. The proper forms of the multi-vitamins are. Anyone can throw together a 10,000% complex of X vitamin but if your body doesn't utilize it properly then what's the point? Take Ortho Core for example. It's an expensive multi-vitamin but it uses proper ingredients. Having Cholecalciferol as your vitamin D instead of some cheaper knock off can mean the difference in multi-vitamins. I'd take a well-balanced gummy vitamin over some 10,000% wal-mart knock-off.0 -

I take a womens multivitamin and vitamin B12 and they really help I think boost my energy and feel alot better mentally too0

I agree with a person above. I usually buy the brand name medicines instead of generic medications because my body seems to react better with them. Buying brand names should not apply to everything though.
I take a Centrum multivitamin and some more Vitamin D as supplements.0 -
