Hi there,

I am just trying out the tools on this website. I have actually been on my lifestyle change for almost a month now and have lost 13 to 14 lbs already.

I learned of this program for my blackberry this afternoon when a supervisor at work suggested it at work. Since I am a visual minded person, I decided to give it a try and check it against the other program that I am using. So far I like the tools available.

I am a medical lab tech and have recently been taking naturopathic studies and nutrition by correspondence here in Canada. I am looking forward to applying what I learn to myself. I look forward to loosing more weight and getting healthier and full of more energy. The next week will be tough as I am off to Family Camp with church but I look forward to long beautiful walks on Jack Pine Sand in the early morning hours before anyone else is up.

Have a great Summer

Shannon

Welcome to the site! Good luck in the upcoming weeks, I saw that you said you have some events coming up. Just remember that we all have set backs, but you can always come back from it. Always look for the healthier alternative whenever possible when eating out. You can reach your goal!

    HI Tinalb28,

I feel for ya. I developed shin splints this past couple of weeks and have really struggled with the exercise. I was fortunately guided by my chiropractor a little and he told me what exercises to continue with that would not irritate my injury. Don't hesitate to talk to a physician or health care practitioner. Mayber there is some sort of calisthenics or something that is low risk to your injury yet keep you at least from gaining. I was fortunate, my elliptical didn't aggravate my injury but rather help it as it was low (no) impact and gently stretched the muscles where I needed it and infact lessened the pain.

Now, I walk more on grass surfaces (at least for the interim) on my coffee breaks for only 15 minutes at a time. I also changed my walking shoe. And amazingly, I have no pain for the last two days.

Maybe others out there have some other suggestions. I know it's frustrating but my chiropractor respected the fact that I wanted to keep the momentum going. And he encouraged me to find other forms of fitness. Hopefully you can too.

    Best of luck.

    Shannon
