Last night was the final night of my gym 60 day challenge, I don't think I did very well as I missed the previous two week due to being sick. One of the perks for signing up for the challenge was that you got personal training sessions at a discount, so I signed up for 2 times a week for the next 3 months. Really hoping to get some discipline embedded into my brain so I can come to the gym and do work by myself and see some changes.0

I had to make myself get out of bed so I could go and run my errands. I was suppose to run today but, I don't think it s going to happen. Going to have to set my alarm so Sat morning get dressed and get to the gym when it opens. I just started and I have already fallen off the wagon. Ok enough rant and beating myself up going to move on and do better next week.1

I didn't make it to the gym on Thurs or today.. I am really having a hard time keeping this commitment to myself. As long as I have an appointment I can get there, I have no idea why and its not like I am doing anything else.0

Hi, I'm 50 too and would welcome mutual support and motivation on this journey. In September I was down 85 lbs and have since then gained 22 lbs. It's been a struggle. I hope to connect with other likeminded folks on here.0

I am 47, have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. I lost 161lbs in 2005-2006. Maintained until 2012 and have gained 50lbs since then.
What did I have then that I dont have now? I had lifestyle change buddy(my sister n law) we are in different life places now, an active husband who helped keep me active(he was murdered in 2009), I had a sick mother to care for(she had a liver transplant in 2011).
My lifestyle now is not very active, and my eating high calarie and fat food has taken its toll. I would love to have a journey friend or several to help keep each other on track and accountable.
It is so frustrating knowing I was able to do this before and just can't seem to stay with it now!

I am not doing very well with my fitness schedule. I have been making my appt. with my trainer but, my 3 runs a week have been a bust. This past week it has been in the 20's but feeling like 9, I have been out to my doctor's appt. but once inside just didn't want to go back out into the cold. I have been seriously thinking about getting getting ride of my elliptical and getting a treadmill but, I with my past history I just think I will be wasting my money. Feeling0

I have sent your a friend request. I will be 50 in a few weeks. I've lost 151 Lbs so far and still have 112 to lose on my journey to better health.2

Doctor's appt on Friday did not go well. My Cholesterol is over 200 and I have 4 months to get it back under control or I will be on meds. My doctor thinks its the eggs, dairy creamer and the sugar. In addition, my blood pressure was up along with my weight. I am trying so hard and it doesn't seem to be working, I am really feeling depressed and hopeless.0

Sounds like me to a T! I've got about 15 pounds to go, but I'm afraid it will be 20 to go if I'm not careful. I've got two kids of my own, 12 and 15, but we also took custody of my 17 yo nephew in the spring when my sister died. I guess it's emotional eating now, mostly out of frustration, but I've packed on 10 pounds since he moved in. Anyone at all, please feel free to add me. And if anyone has any advice as to how not-to-binge-eat when the clock hits 9pm, I'm all ears! I do great all through the day, food and exercise, but blow it nearly every night. Two steps forward, three steps back.0 -
Feel free to add me! Try signing up for single volunteers or hiking club or anything else that you will be active with a group. When you go to the gym, make friends! Then arrange to meet them weekly at the gym. Don't look at the scale for a while. Just go and find something active that you enjoy doing. Could be Zumba, swimming, or just taking walks or bike rides with a group. My trainer told me this: Just because you run a stop light once doesn't mean you should keep doing it. Forgive yourself and move forward. You can do this!1

Renee, I'm sorry you're having trouble getting your exercise in. I wonder, do you enjoy running? Maybe you could think of something else that's more fun for you, like a walk with a friend or bowling or something that's focused not on the exercise you're getting but on the experience itself... walking through Longwood Gardens or any of the wonderful museums in Philly is more likely to get me going than a run in this weather!

I went to the grocery store today and I think I did pretty good. I resisted the potato chips and the ice-cream
I did get pretzels and a pack of snack size baby ruth's. Got some salmon for omega 3 and smart balance to replace my butter. Baby steps.1 -
Feel free to add me. I need to lose 100 pounds.0

I would loved to be added to this group! 50+ always been fit but recently "threw in the towel" i'm ready to start again and regain my health! I'm also new and am not sure about how to add or be added. I'd be grateful for any help and support.1

I have a weigh in coming up in the next few weeks with my trainer and I am not at all confident that there will be a loss. I have been having a really bad few weeks, no cardio to speak off really, I just can't seem to get my self together.0
