Overindulged and feel fine

(Not sure if this is the right forum for this.)

Does anyone feel fine after overindulging on food? I ate over 5k calories on Xmas, mostly sweets, and the only thing that made me feel bloated was the single Coke Zero I drank. If I hadn't drank the Coke, I would've eaten a lot more.

Mostly asking because I'm reading many people are/were feeling sick/yucky/bloated after the holiday eating express stopped at the station. Wondering if I'm a weirdo, or if it's a case of the squeakiest wheel is the loudest.

Sweets and "junk food" is very easy to digest, so it's rarely about physical limitations. We are designed to be able to absorb as many calories as possible, for survival. It's just that there are so many calories around everywhere all the time therese days, so it's not a good idea to do it all the time.

I actually feel OK too. My big day was Christmas Eve. While I did not log, I'm sure I hit at least the 3000 mark minimum (thanks to drunkeningly eating chocolate cake in my cousin's pantry lol) and I'm OK. Water weight from excess sodium and carbs yes, but other than that, I'm OK.

Holiday eating made me constipated, so I wouldn't count that as feeling "fine", lol. After I threw back a couple of prune juices I'm feeling much better today though! My stomach is still sticking out much farther than this time last week but I'm not concerned about it.

Didn't really overindulge, to the extent most people would consider it overindulging, but felt like *kitten*. Not used to eating sweet stuff.

Christmas was fine for me but the week before I went to a Japanese hibachi grill and felt awful that night and the next day. Like, really, really bloated and nauseous. I'm sure it was the heavy food and all the sodium. But I was back to my normal self after a day or two. Made me realize that it's okay to do that once in a while (like once a year) but I could never eat that way all the time. Not anymore.
  • Put on 11lb in a few days. Went way off the rails. Happy I did so though, because I had a marvellous time and my body actually WANTS to return to the diet after such hedonistic abuse. More importantly though, my mind does too. A few minor indiscretions yet to commit. Left over turkey and chinese noodles etc coming up. Maybe a halfway healthy leftover stew too, but no binging. I will maybe put on another lb. Then some seriously healthy food from the 1st.
Strange as it may seem, I don't see this as a negative turn. It has really placed me in control of something I felt at the whim of. I now feel I own my health choices and I choose health, mobility, happiness without needing it orally, and life to see my baby girls grow.

That's certainly very interesting. In previous years I've been able to eat until I literally can't move... and then to reach for more chocolate and fizz - Coke slides down like water for me usually.

But this year, for whatever reason, I felt physically uncomfortable, bordering on sick. Wondering if it's psychological this time around.

I felt fine after two days of eating in excess/eating foods that I don't normally eat. And my weigh-in this morning put me back at where I was at before Christmas Eve :)

I should say that I overindulged more than just one day. Thursday through Sunday with Saturday and Sunday being the worst due to the Christmas cookies and FUDGE. Thursday and Friday I ate out for almost every meal. I tried to keep it light but "light" at a restaurant with family is heavy in normal terms, lol. Especially with all the beer.

Eh. I'm on vacation visiting my son and have over eaten on more meals than I should have. No drama here. I'll probably overeat on a few more too.

I didnt really overindulge. I listened to my stomach when it told me it was done.

My fit bit dashboard said I had gained 9.8 pounds since December 25th and it was the morning of the 27th! No worries, I can start back on my running after company leaves and burn it off fast.

I didn't really over indulge, but did eat slightly different foods than I'm used to (more chips, and quite a few tamales). The starches aren't my favorite feeling now. Back to "my way" of eating today. Cheers. Glad you're feeling well.

I didn't go as high as 5,000 calories but was well over my maintenance calories. I felt fine overeating which tells me I can't rely on my hunger/fullness feelings to lose or maintain weight. Going to be logging for life.
I feel kind of done with sweet foods though and put the cookies in the freezer and the candy away as well.
Weighed myself today and I maintained my weight from last week.

Do you eat sweets generally? I only get bloated when I eat McDonalds or KFC that I'm not used to eating. I feel fine but then I drank more wine and beer than I ate sweets so initially felt rubbish :p

I eat sweets everyday, just not 2500 calories worth.

I'm asking because many people complain about being sick, bloated, regretful, etc. after overindulging. Yes, they're eating foods they either don't eat or don't eat as much of anymore, but they're feeling that way a few days after. I certainly should have been sick or at least jumping face-first into diabetes from all the sugary tastiness I ate. Only problem happened because I drank a Coke Zero (carbonation filled my stomach; wish it worked that well now) and that wore off after I went to bed.

I ate plenty of other foods, too, all of which should have made me feel ill or at least to the point of Mr. Creosote.

I feel/felt fine, too. My only issue is that - after two days (one with my family, one with my wife's) of festivities - I'm finding it difficult to get back to "normal" eating and feeling full.

I also felt fine. I eat sweets every day too. I did eat more than usual on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, but I didn't feel sick or bloated. I did get full faster and didn't eat as much as I would have in the past.

This is the first Christmas in 12 years that I haven't had problems with food or binging. However, I will say that when I have gone way overboard, I just feel like complete crap. The main thing I notice is that I feel REALLY tired and lethargic. I will also say, though, that the day AFTER I overindulge, I tend to have REALLY good workouts.

I have plenty of days when I over-indulge and wouldn't even know it the next day based on how I feel. Certain foods make me feel terrible when I eat too much of them, but I can eat a lot of calories without any negative impact.

I'm feeling a little bloated from all the booze and not drinking enough water, but other than that, I'm good... currently working my way through this dohcr8ufx3vg.jpg

I have never eliminated any food that I can eat (I have some food allergies, which are a matter of life & death) in order to lose weight. I did stop drinking carbonated beverages in favor of water or tea though. I had a diet soda at one dinner last week and felt bloated after that. I really think it was the carbonation. Otherwise, I had three birthdays, two Christmas lunches, and a reunion and I gained 1 pound.

I'm feeling good too, though in all fairness I didn't go way overboard during the holidays.

I've had days where I felt pretty terrible after overeating though-- usually when I ate a ton of stuff really fast and then it all hit my stomach at once. Or I sometimes get nauseous if I eat a lot of sweets one after another.
