Should I start maintaining my weight?

Okay so 5ft 3 I was 155lbs in August and I'm now 141 lbs (saying that pre Christmas I was 136 lbs). Before gaining weight a few years ago I was around 140lbs (going my my clothing and how it fits etc). I've lost 10% of my body weight.

I'm not sure if I should continue to my target of 125lbs which would give me a bmi 22. If I was to stop here I'd probably aim to lose body fat ( it has gone down but it is still high at 29%).

Should I start maintaining my weight?

If your target is 125 lbs, why stop now? Keep going.

Why not take a maintenance break (eating at what you would eat at 135lbs) and start lifting. Then evaluate what you want to do.

An alternate is to just move to eating at maintenance for your 125lbs goal. This could probably be slower than continuing at a deficit, but would give you a little leeway ( ok if you go over at times) and give you an idea if the calorie goal at 125 lbs is reasonable for you.

Start lifting or some kind of resistance training to help with your muscle and bone retention and resculpt your body whichever you decide.

    Cheers, h.

  • I'm 5'1 and started around 140. I'm now 118. If I were you I'd continue. Just be patient and continue doing what you've been doing. The weight will come off it's just slow moving the lighter you get.
