So for 2 1/2 years I've been redoing my self. First year lost 100lbs. Maintained well during year two. Now the scale is going back up. Not much, 7 lbs, but ... with the amount of calorie counting I do and cardio, I have no clue how I could even gain a pound. My week of workout consist of : cycling 100 plus mile, running 25-30 miles, and hitting the gym doing weights 2-3 days. I Count my calories like a psycho person. HELP!! I'm getting very discouraged.

Do you need to change the batteries in your body scale? Maybe it's worn out and you need a new one?
  • Additionally your body might be adding muscle in place of fat. So you still look the same but your body has built more muscle. Especially if you have increased the amount of weight you are lifting.

Decrease your calories. It doesn't really matter why u are gaining, clearly you're eating more cals than you need to maintain. Just shave off a little on portion size or treats here & there. Congrats on the loss and year of maintenance!
  • I've lost 70 lbs, and I work out 6 days a week, and my scale goes up and down all the time - usually within about a 5 lb range. Depends how much water I'm drinking, what time of the month it is, how much sodium I'm eating... even sometimes stress can add on a little bit for me! Even though you're working out a ton, are you still pushing yourself as hard as you used to? Since my weight loss, I've had to push a lot harder to burn the same amount of calories as before! Either way, take a deep breath, don't obsess, drink more water, and enjoy your substantial weight loss - that's an amazing feat to accomplish!!
