Question about drinking...

Its probably been answered before... but I searched briefly and didnt find it.
The setup: I am no longer trying to lose weight. At all. In fact, I am trying to bulk some upper body, because my muscular *kitten* legs look weird when the upper body is scrawny. (Hill sprints = Massive legs)
I like to drink Tequila. ALOT. Anyone on my friends list can attest to this. (Sorry guys....drunk posting is a crime)
Now, contrary to popular opinion, I do not know all about diet. So hence my question.
Since I am trying to build muscle and not lose,, am I better off eating my full amount of calories especially proteins, and then going OVER my calorie limit with the booze
OR
Am I better off saving some calories, and not getting enough protein/complex carbs/fats for the day, but staying around my calorie goal?
Discuss.

i am newer to MFP so i could be wrong, but....
if you have your "goal" set to "gain 1 lb/wk" or something similar, i would just stick with eating the amount of calories/protein that MFP suggests!
when i drink, i work the calories into my daily amount, but i'm trying to lose not gain )0 -
Hi. I think it's really refreshing that you admit you like your booze :drinker:
I would ensure you have all your protein especially if you are trying to bulk up and use your extra "exercise" calories to have a drink. Bear in mind though that they are "empty" calories. Nothing scientific here.. just gut feel.. that's what I would do
Good luck :happy:0 -
Alcohol is metabolized like a fat...it sure won't help you build muscle...just a gut.0

I've currently been eating both exercise calories AND daily cals. So thats why I would have to go over my limit if I were to drink on top of that, even with exercise.0
