I can't relate to those diseases specifically but I can relate to the giving up. I have other conditions that tend to cause issues for me. Let's encourage each other! :-)

I have PCOS, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and a few autoimmune diseases as well. I use to to say oh I can't do....Then insert many things....I had a wake up call in the form of my premature niece...She was born 2 months early and was so tiny but she fought and is now a perfect 3yo. She is what I call my why. She is my #1 motivator because she fought so hard for her life that I realized why am I not fighting for mine! I was 384 pounds when she was born I'm now 303. Sure it took me some time and I have a way to go but I'm not where I was. I am worth it and the medical issues I have are no longer my excuse to quit because I am in charge of my health and my life!! I have only lost 18 pounds since joining MFP but it's taught me many things and the support is amazing!

You are worth it and you deserve to be happy and healthy!!!

I have bipolar disorder type 1 and a few other less predominant issues; however, I'm 'high functioning' (?) and work as a clinical nurse which gives me good understanding of other medical conditions.

I take lithium which has caused hypothyroidism for me (sub clinical by the numbers, but enough to produce symptoms). I take thyroxine daily.

Feel free to add me if you like. I am well aware of the added difficulties in weight control when medical issues are present.
