My goal as of now is to lose at least 15lbs by mid August. Is this a do-able goal or am I just shooting at the stars? Appreciate any feedback, thanks!
Stay strong

That doesn't seem like a healthy weight loss goal... it sounds of the crash diet variety and won't be good for you in the long run.

It's doable but probably not very healthy! Also when you lose that fast you have a tendancy to put it back on and then some. Slow and steady is much better all the way around.

Its - possible - but I don't believe its healthy. Will you be ok with 8lbs instead? :D that's 2 lbs a week which is at the most you should be losing (the healthy way anywhoo ).
  • i think if you work hard, and dont cheat you can achieve whatever you want!
and i agree with holesinface if it is affecting your health lose what you can by that date
dont rush it because your body will do what it can in the time frame
    good luck!

some might say its durable some might say its pushing it i know a girl who lost 30pounds in 1 month by watching what she eats and eatting baked food like bake chicken, chicken breast etc with salads every day and walking 3miles a day i would say dont go into starvation mode

I would say it depends on your current weight, what kind of diet you plan to do. I have lost that much on a low carb diet, but you have to realize a lot of it is water initially since carbs seem to have more water. I would say set some action type goals rather than a weight loss number. So for example, I will eat 6 small meals a day consisting of a lean protein, healthy carb and fat. Or, I will exercise 60 minutes 6 days a week. These things will lead to your weight loss goals, but give you more tangible things to focus on rather than just a number in the end.

I have done it, it's very possible, i actually done it in 3 weeks. But listen, most of it is water weight to begin with. weight means nothing really. The scale showed I lost 4lbs last month, i gained muscle mass and i dropped my body fat by 7%. The scale doesn't tell you that.

I don't think it's good idea to set a time limit on your goal. You can't control how much weight you lose. All you can do is control what you do with your diet and exercise, how much you lose and by when isn't up to you.

I lost 15 pounds in just over a month...I had a lot to lose so that is probably why...I didn't strave myself I just watched what I ate, especially portion size and exercise alot!

I completely agree, but I also think that it does depend on your current weight as well. My best friend dropped about 15 lbs in a month, but she had around 70 pounds to lose. If you focus on living a healthy life, then the weight will come off.

    This is actually pretty good.

For myself, I lost over 30lbs in 3 months...BUT, for six weeks I was on a plateau stuck at 190lbs. That was THREE weeks ago, and I'm 177 today. Yes...12lbs in 3 weeks, and 4"-5" off my waist in the same time. Remember, I'm also very close to my goal weight...which most people say is very unlikely.

It's very doable...you just have to do it right.

Yes this is true too, the heavier you are the more weight you can lose per month. I have some friend's who are at 5% bodyfat. He loses a pound per month or something like that.
