my weight loss since being on MFP. I want to be an attention *kitten* and enter in my real starting weight just so the ticker shows the full weight loss....

So change your starting weight. A lot of people here started losing weight before they found MFP, and they entered their highest weight as their starting weight here. Just go to "weigh-in," then "edit previous entries."

I've only lost 8 since joining MFP but as you can see my ticker shows 28. This is what you do:

    Home>Check-in>Edit Previous Entries>Add new entry

If you go to "Check In" you can then click on "Edit Previous Entries" and adjust your starting weight to your original starting weight.

when you go to check in, pick a day before you started and log your initial starting weight, thats what I did. It might be under edit weight.

I entered mine from my very heaviest, which was WAY before MFP. You can do the same.

you can change your starting weight, I just figured it out today because before starting MFP i lost 9 lbs on my own, go to wiegh-in,
-> edit previous entries -> starting weight : type in your actual starting weight and click change.

So what? It's your ticker. If you want it to show all your progress, change it! You can always put a disclaimer in your forum signature and/or on your profile that your highest weight was at such-and-such a date, and you joined MFP later. :)

That's easy enough to do. Go into check in, add entry, put in the dates of previous weigh ins before you joined MFP and what the weight was. I did it because I wanted to see my total progress.

ETA do not change your starting weight, simply add in earlier entries. No dishonesty there.

Mine is set from my heaviest as well. You just go in and edit previous entries.

I understand. Mine is only 3 pounds off but it still bugs me.

I totally agree. In my signature it says the following:
    HW: 208 (7/2010) | MFP SW: 188 (6/1/11)
