Hi, I'm Becky and in back after a divorce to try this again. Four years ago, I had lost 20 lbs using this site, then divorce and my entire life just changed and things kinda went numb. This brings me to today when my chiropractor said losing weight would help my health /pain. However, my scale battery has died so I have guessed what my weight might be. I started to think maybe its a sign- maybe its not about the number. I mean im going to eat less calories ,and better calories - so maybe the actual number doesn't matter- not when the pain from the weight is the reason im here.

While I am not a proponent of weight as a metric in and of itself, I think its important for you to have some measure to track your progress over time. This will help you check if something is working or not working (assuming you will provide enough time to let it work).

I agree. I just hate the idea if "living for the scale" that I had gotten into a habit of before.
