Hey all, I'm looking for a calculator to see exactly how much my body burns daily just doing basic things. I've seen a few online, but the answers I get when I input my information is pretty different each time. Any help is appreciated, thank you

Do you track your intake accurately? Do you weigh daily? You will have your answer.1

The numbers can vary from one formula to the next, and some require body fat percentage to make the calculations. At the end of the day, they are all estimates. Most of them will give you a BMR, which is the number of calories before you even start moving (think in a coma), and TDEE, which includes exercise. Compared to my actual results, this one is pretty accurate for me (YMMV):

There will be some variation because of how they use the data that is available to create their formula. Anything 100 calories or less in difference would simply be within that difference. Also, there are TDEE calculators that include intended exercise in the calculation and NEAT calculators that do not include intended exercise, but only normal daily activity. Frankly, I would just use the calculator here. Set your goal reasonably, and eat the calorie goal it gives you to lose measuring your food carefully, ideally weighing all solids and using measuring cups and spoons for liquids.2

Scooby's calculator is a good one. As Queenliz99 and Nutmegoreo both alluded to, keep in mind that any calculator is just an estimate and will vary from person to person. It will get you somewhere in the ballpark, but then you need to accurately monitor your calorie intake and weight progress to fine tune it.1 -
I really like this one as I can specify a few more details of my daily routine compared to other calculators.

I like the way this one is set up but the numbers came out super high for me! There's no way my BMR is over 1600 calories but that's what it gave me.0 -

I think the BMR estimate is pretty close, but there's no way my TDEE is over 2400. I spend my work day standing, but even if I lower that dial to reflect the amount of time I really spend walking casually, it still gives me over 2100 for TDEE, which is higher than what my Fitbit has shown for the last couple years.

I've often been surprised at how high my tdee caloric intake can be with excersize.
Its worth giving the higher amount a trial period imo.0
